We just had a dinner of snow crab - so much that I couldn’t finish. 🦀 And Dh is about to open a bottle of Conundrum champagne.
What are you doing to celebrate the return of hope, decency, and a respect for science?

elaine I'm sitting here in the pussy hat you made me four years ago with a mini bottle of sparkling cider waiting for the speeches! (No one to share champagne with tonight, so I'm avoiding the migraine that would come from drinking a whole bottle by myself). Cheers!

My son, daughter and I went to one of our favorite Mexican restaurants for margaritas and dinner on their patio. I woke up early this morning, and my daughter and I went for a long hike, so after the margarita, I was tired and took a nap. Now, I am snuggled in on the couch with a quilt and a glass of my favorite Chardonnay, waiting to hear Biden and Harris speak. I am looking forward to a good night's sleep for the first time this week.

I opened a really good bottle of wine, husband is cooking and I’m planning a trip to a lodge in the mountains I’ve been wanting to go to for next weekend. Really happy.

Snuggled under a fleece blanket, drinking some bubbly and watching the speeches.

We ordered take out from the hibachi/sushi restaurant. It's a bit expensive, more than we'd normally pay for a takeout meal, but we deserve it after the shit show of the last few days (years!).
In a week dh leaves for a week of hunting. I'm taking a couple of days off of work and next weekend and Monday and Tuesday I'm going to indulge in doing nothing but baking, reading, Netflix and playing online. All by myself (well dd will be here but she's usually at work, sleeping or with her boyfriend). I can't wait! I plan to enjoy it even more with today's good news. Maybe a nice drink in a hot bath etc.

I’m finishing the bottle of bubbly that I opened when the election was called and watching Kamala and Joe speak while eating a slice of all-American apple pie that DH made. I’m going into week 2 of 3 of round the clock supervision including sleeping on the couch while looking after my girl Posie, who had a cancerous tumor removed and a skin graft and needs to be kept quiet so she doesn’t rip out the multitudes of staples in her leg and belly. I’m exhausted. I’m exhilarated. But I can breathe freely for the first time in 4 years.

Wine.
We splurged on a dinner out. Usually we get something quick and cheap. Tonight it was prime ribs.

Watching the ABC special by myself in our divided house enjoying cool ranch Doritos, extra sharp Tillamook cheese and an excellent Gin and Tonic. Might have had a dark chocolate Hagendasz ice cream bar to celebrate.

We are having wine along with our pizza. Watching the parties and celebrations in our great country but wondering why our country is filled with so many dummies.... Go HOME and celebrate all you want but if you must celebrate in public wear your damn mask. I can only imagine how many people will become sick in the next few weeks. I'd say most of the celebrants are wearing masks...but yeah, I agree

Does crying off and on all day from absolute relief count? Cause that’s what I’ve done. Sat outside in the unseasonably warm weather, watching the celebrations on my iPad. Wonderful, wonderful day.

We didn't really celebrate per se, but it was a great day. My husband and I were sitting outside at a tiny restaurant in Yorktown VA, enjoying the sun and waiting for our sandwiches, when I looked at my phone for the first time in a couple of hours, and saw my mom had texted me. All she said was "Ding dong, the witch is dead!" and I knew what had happened. The day got even brighter and we enjoyed our sandwiches and took a drive to look at the fall leaves. I have a lot of bricks on my shoulders and have had for months, but today it felt like one of those bricks has fallen off. Feels good.

I have enjoyed a bottle of champagne alone. Dh asked if I was drinking it in celebration of Joe. I said yes. He did not partake. I also had a petit four(for)?

At some point, we're going to get dinner from Ruth's Chris. (We might have to delay it significantly, though... I am not comfortable eating at restaurants yet, and that's WAY too expensive for takeout.)
But right now, we're biding time until SNL.

Can I share that when things were looking grim on Tuesday night that I started looking at sources for pink yarn and pulling up my pussyhat patterns? And can I also share that I am freaking happy that I don’t have to knit another bunch of them?
