birukitty ABC announced Jeopardy has shows taped thru 12/25. Alex taped his last shows on 10/29. That’s amazing that he kept working so close to the end.

And may our own dear donna be remembered by all. Donna also passed away due to pancreatic cancer, while I was battling my breast cancer. She was a breath of optimism and hope here on our board.

I was 7 years old when he started on Jeopdary and we only had 2 channels growing up. So there were a few iconic voices.

It's just so sad. I hardly remember a time he wasn't a part of my life.

I just can’t imagine turning on tonight and seeing him when I know he’s gone. I wonder if tonight will be a tribute show and not a regular episode ?

I saw Jeopardy! being filmed about 4 1/2 years ago, and it was so much fun. One of my ridiculous bucket list items is to be on the show one day, but goodness knows it won't be the same without him. I also made a Jeopardy!-themed bulletin board when I worked as a resident assistant. It was easily in my top 3 favorite boards I ever created.

I was dreading watching tonight. I was able to make it through the producers short statement but when the stage went dark I burst into tears. Totally blaming that one on pregnancy hormones.

Husband said he was in tears by the end when the stage went dark. I thankfully didn’t watch or I would have been bawling too.

You were not alone 😢 I lost it too 😭 I couldn’t even read the clues when the show started I was crying so hard. I can’t imagine watching the last show which I’m hearing will be on Christmas Day.

Can’t imagine not hearing his iconic voice anymore Great voice. I was listening to a Canadian podcast recently and they played a short clip of a CBC broadcaster announcing something (that pertained to the podcast subject) and I recognized Alex Trebek as the voice. I figure he must have been early 20s at the time and he sounded exactly the same. It was the kind of announcer voice that was in style in the early 1960s but there aren’t many people talking like that anymore.

I know he did something in the 60s for hockey that the NHL Network played today and it was so nice. Two of my favorite things. Edit: It was the Hawks' 1967 playoffs highlights.

NBC reran another old Celebrity Jeopardy skit last night at 10:00 with Martin Short hosting. They showed the segment with the real Alex Trebek and Will Farrell and then inserted a Jeopardy answer: He was the greatest gameshow host? Question: Who was Alex Trebek.

Some friends of mine went on a cruise and Alex was the celebrity guest who gave a couple of lectures. They enjoyed meeting him.

My sister and I would watch Jeopardy together almost every night for years. Neither of us wanted to think about what his diagnosis meant when we learned about it. He gave us so many pleasant memories. We’ll miss him a lot.

I've been thinking that they've been thinking Ken for some time.
I like him and think he'd do well w/this treasured game.

I am happy that Ken Jennings will be the first guest host. This has been in the cards for months, and well deserved. If you don't get his weekly e-mail with trivia questions and conversation, I suggest it highly. He seems like a great guy.

I like Ken. I’ll watch for a couple of shows. No one can replace Alex. It will be tough to choose the next host.

ken jennings? no thank you. Why? I loved AT and thought he was perfect and have been watching him since I was a kid. I think the role requires someone of relatively seriousness and intelligence and it seems like Ken Jennings would fit the role well. Someone who clearly loves Jeopardy. Maybe he won't be great, but I will absolutely watch him. Do you have reasons or a better choice?
