yeah, it's total bullshit
And once again, I'm amazed how many things in our government are based on the assumption that candidates/incumbents will voluntarily do the right thing, rather than being law (e.g., disclosing tax returns, this, etc.)

I couldn't listen to the whole thing... when he got to the 'it could be up to delegations from the states, and there are more RED states...' I got so anxious I had to stop it.
I feel sick.

If we are going to make it out of this, someone on the republican party needs to find their balls and quick.
I will never ever ever give anyone who supports this Republican Party an ounce of credibility. As has been happening for the last 4 year, they are shitting on the constitution and this country. You know that thing they "claim" to love.
Fuck this nonsense about giving him time. Stand up and speak out or forever be tainted. Republicans will forever be the skidmark stain on this country.

I agree with every word you wrote. I did know what Van Jones said and I'm actually rather surprised that he didn't. I mean he's a lawyer! That said, I'm glad he got the word out, and I absolutely 100% believe this is where Trump is going and I have believed it for several months. Trump is a bombastic fool, but Republicans in congress who are supporting him now? They are the destroyers of democracy. I am terrified. I have been terrified for a long time, but it just gets worse.

This is very disturbing. Why do we still have those parts of the process?
I’ll be writing to my congressman. He never responds anyway but it’s worth a try to at least let him know how I feel.
Also, pompeo made a comment yesterday about the world watching. Yes, they are. Anyone in the Republican Party that think it would be good for the country—either at hike or Abroad—to keep trump in power at this point Is an idiot.

SO scary. I have no doubt that 45 will do everything he can to win. He 100% believes that he got the popular vote, and should have won the electoral college. The only reason he didn't was due to the democrats and voter fraud. He is such a POS that I am convinced that unless some of his advisors and other republicans around him walk away or tell him to grow up and pull his head out of his butt, he is not going to go down quietly.

Vote counts continue and Biden's lead is starting to look like a runaway freight train, check it outHow long will it take US Courts to order him escorted out like a fired employee or convicted felon or WHAT EVER ?! A lot of his followers believe him and the time to stop is now. Not in a few weeks, not next month, NOW.

I'm not going to watch the video because I don't want any more stress in my life. However, in response to the thread title if it was an actual question --- my answer would be "I hope what happens is that I'll get to see trump carted off by the Secret Service." Wouldn't that be a lovely sight?

Donny’s a spoilt brat and doesn’t accept the word ‘no’- and it suits his supporters to enable him . Seems like he’s got away with all his bad behaviour all his life .

I honestly never thought I would see the day when I am listening to a TED talk on HOW TO STOP A FUCKING COUP (he actually used the word coup) - in AMERICA!!!!!

Every single person in the US should be very very concerned about this. But we already know that those moronic selfish trump supporters won't give a shit, they will be happy about it, as long as their boy donny gets back in. Fuck the rest of you, and fuck the Constitution, fuck everything as long as they get what they want. IOKIYAR. How loudly would they be screaming if if were the Dems doing this? I hate them with every fibre of my being.

That talk was unnecessarily condescending and unnecessarily long. Some thoughts:
Sure, explain the process but stop calling this shit “secret, unknown, mechanisms” They’re not. I understand many ppl may not know about election delegations but that doesn’t mean it’s some secret “loop hole”. I thought it was just for dramatic effect.
We have a problem and it’s about whether Trump will try to institute a coup. Trump, undermines trust in media (only he tells the truth) is intimidating states (the calls to multiple state governors ) calling the elections fraudulent (mail in ballots, Democrats counting votes can’t be trusted), and inciting his followers to violence (too many to list). Trump has already done all of these things. The only thing Jones didn’t mention was a military coup and I hope that doesn’t happen.
The President and the Vice President refused to promise a peaceful transfer of power!! Everyone should have been losing their shit over that! The people and politicians. The tepid response from Republicans denouncing that is horrifying, just so scary.
America is not special. Democratic republics fall into authoritarian regimes. Why couldn’t we?
ETA: edited to better clarify my thoughts.

John Bolton: "It is simply a truism that Trump has a legal right to pursue all appropriate election-law remedies to ensure an accurate, lawful vote count. To be credible, however, any aggrieved candidate must at some point produce valid legal arguments and persuasive evidence.Trump has so far failed to do so, and there is no indication he can. If he can’t, his “right” to contest the election is beside the point. The real issue is the grievous harm he is causing to public trust in America’s constitutional system. Trump’s time is running out, even as his rhetoric continues escalating. And time is running out for Republicans who hope to maintain the party’s credibility, starting with Georgia’s two Senate runoffs in January. Here is the cold political reality: Trump is enhancing his own brand (in his mind) while harming the Republican brand. The party needs a long internal conversation about the post-Trump era, but first it needs to get there honorably.
Consider the competing interests. Donald Trump’s is simple and straightforward: Donald Trump. The near-term Republican interest is winning the Georgia runoffs. The long-term Republican interest emphatically involves winning those Senate seats, but it also involves rejecting Trump’s personalized, erratic, uncivil, unpresidential and ultimately less-than-effective politics and governance. One approach holds that coddling Trump while he trashes the U.S. electoral system will help him get over the loss, thereby making it easier to reconcile him to leaving the Oval Office. But this coddling strategy is exactly backward. The more Republican leaders kowtow, the more Trump believes he is still in control and the less likely he will do what normal presidents do: make a gracious concession speech; fully cooperate with the president-elect in a smooth transition process; and validate the election process itself by joining his successor at the Jan. 20 inauguration." www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/john-bolton-trump-republicans-concession-transition/2020/11/11/aabcf372-2430-11eb-a688-5298ad5d580a_story.htmlSucks to be you, Johnny.
