I've seen the pictures and really thinking that I need them this holiday season. Are they really as good/satisfying as they look? My Costco does not have them (yet) and I was at Target and they are already out and/or not stocked. All reviews welcome to determine how far I'm willing to drive to get my hands on these. I think I regret opening this thread. DD would love these and now I feel the need to head out looking for them.

Check for someone local on Facebook or NextDoor! My friend has been making and selling them like crazy, but our cottage food laws don’t allow for homemade items to be shipped. In our state it all has to be sold in person.
And to answer your question, they are amazing! I just bought some of the molds to try making them too, I might offer them with the Christmas cookies I plan to sell.

The good three part molds everyone is raving about are impossible to get right now because there is only one person selling them and she is constantly sold out. Try here: forminhasbostontrufflewrappers.com/There is a definite learning curve to it, but I’ve been making candies and cookies for decades so I’m not skeered, LOL.

have you been watching too much tiktok? LOL I don't have tik-tok, but saw them on a Costco instagram site, thus going down the rabbit hole.

People on the online groups I’m on have been saying the ones from Amazon are currently taking weeks to ship.

If you are looking for a way to recreate these a little differently...
Salted caramel. One serving of hot chocolate mix. Crush up 3 Werthers hard candies. Add to water/milk. Delish.
Actually, you can make a ton of flavors this way. I really like the cotton candy candy (3 pieces crushed candy from Dollar Tree). Add to mix.
They also have strawberry, cinnamon, coffee, peppermint etc.
I have made these already for my neighbors for Christmas.
My mix
10.5 cups of powdered milk 1 cup of powdered sugar 16 oz of Quick (you can add more if you like your hot chocolate more chocolatey) 1 cup of dry dairy creamer
I take 1/4 cup mix and add 3 pieces of chopped up candy.
And you can buy little frothers on Amazon and make it a fun gift with a mug.

I am not a fan of flavored hot chocolate, that disqualifies me from partaking. Enabling averted.

Check with a local shop. There are two small businesses local to me selling them. Another shop is getting hers from a third place. All of the makers are small businesses that make other chocolate treats.
DS loves hot chocolate. I'm going to track down a few for his birthday.

I know Trader Joes has something similar in a snowman shape - and I just saw some hot chocolate melty snowmen at a Dollar General near me.

Sorry if I enabled Too good not to share. For those of you making them, yay! Truly I have no skill when it comes to making food items look pretty. I'm the poster child for pinterests fails! But awesome tip to check Trader Joes, that's an easy stop for me. Not giving up on Target/Costco-hoping they just haven't arrived yet. And we do have a local chocolatier and will check with her. Good look finding and making them.

On Amazon its $11.00 for one bomb? That's what I saw. If I can find it the Wondershop in Target sells singles for $1.99. So definitely worth my time if I know it's in stock to go there.

On Amazon its $11.00 for one bomb? Search locally on Facebook Marketplace or on NextDoor for someone local to you making them. My friend sells them for way less than that.

Lots of local bakeries and treat makers are doing these.
I bought one at a bakery the other day and tried it when a friend was here on Monday. I think they are a fun novelty, but would I buy $5 ones (seems to be the going price) just for me to use? No.
I heated the milk, poured it over the bomb in a large mug. It didn’t look like it was doing anything at first, but the chocolate shell was getting soft. It opened more from the bottom and when I stirred a bit with a spoon, the marshmallows came out and it melted a bunch more. We found that there was a lot of stirring needed to get the mix to dissolve - and the mini marshmallows also dissolved. The chocolate shell took more time to melt and did not totally blend in, even with lots of stirring.
Not to be a downer, because I think kids especially might enjoy them, but I would not spend a lot of money on them if you’re a regular cocoa drinker. It was interesting to try it.

Sweet lord - I decided to offer them this year. 24 hours after posting in various local groups I had to turn off orders.
I sold 206 4-packs plus 85 individual ones.

If you're not the baking/crafty type and you have one near by, I saw them at Save A Lot.

We keep seeing them come up online at Costco, but they sell out FAST! RiteAid, Walmart and Joann carry a single bomb from Frankford (only $2 at Walmart, more expensive at Joann and RiteAid). Target has two different packages, a single and a three pack. They all sell out pretty quick, but I just got one tonight at Joann. OH and you can buy the mold on Amazon and make them yourself
