Have any of you played the "Hunt A Killer" or any of the other mystery games that are advertised?
I only named "Hunt A Killer" as that's the only one I could quickly find in my scrolling.
I'm trying to find something for us to do Thanksgiving/Christmas. It's only 3 maybe 4 of us. I thought maybe this would be different and challenging.
Any insight or experience?
Any recommendations?

Hmmm that’s not good!
I was hoping someone here had played them.

I actually looked at Hunt a Killer because my dd loves murder mysteries. But I thought it was way too expensive. I'd rather just get us some sort of board game, which is what I will do after I browse around online.

I bought one of these for my parents for Christmas last year. They loved it. I don't think it is something you can sit and do in an evening. The one I purchased for them involved a box every month with additional clues to solve the mystery.

It would be ok if it went over a few days, but not months.

What about one of those "Murder Mystery in a Box" deals? Where you would invite a bunch of friends over and have dinner and each play a character? You might be able to find one of those with a small minimum number of players. (*I* might try to put together something like that....maybe one for the people IN my house and one to try later over Zoom? ?)

We did an Unsolved Case File while we were on a family vacation (with our adult kids who we see daily and are in our bubble, no exposure to the "outside world ) over Fall Break. It was fun. Several of the teachers at DDs school have them and pass them around. It was a good activity during this time. It took us probably 2-3 hours one evening. I'd buy another to add to the pool of those being passed around school.

We do Hunt a Killer. Each mystery to solve spans 6 months, a box each month. We really enjoy it and it's been something to keep us occupied while at home. We made a murder board and turn on the Spotify playlist that they include a link to in the online tools, make a cocktail and just immerse ourselves in. Right now the one we are working on is a cold case from the 1930s. I actually just got our next mystery in the mail last week but we need to wrap up the current one before we start it. I believe they have a stand alone box as well that is one mystery to solve vs the monthly subscription but don't hold me to that

I was wondering the same thing. I wouldn't mind buying one of these murder mystery games, but I'm sure some of these are a waste of money. Was hoping to get some recommendations of a good one to buy.
