I know I can skim on by them (which I do every day), but it's an awfully nice reprieve not to see so many threads blocked or with the red political moniker today. What has made you smile today?Thats all. Happy Thursday (or Thrusday for old-timers) and carry on

I'm glad that made you smile today And I wallpapered for the first time today and that made me smile. I enjoyed it! We're redecorating our bedroom and I'm also loving the midnight blue feature wall I've just painted

FINALLY maybe they are toning down a bit... it seems like 1/2 the page was filled. I do skim by and not complain but I agree with you 1,000000%

Wallpapering scares me, and has kept me from papering an alcove in my entry that would be PERFECT wallpapered. Are you going to share pics?

DH and I are turning my old scrapbook space into a sauna room. This is in lieu of the Anniversary/Birthday trip we had planned. I'm hoping by Thanksgiving weekend, I'll be nekkid and detoxing. I also chose a dark charcoal grey to paint the walls which kind of scares me, but also thrills me. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

I’m not a big talker here, but I used to read every day. I understand we can just scroll on by, but the political posts make me incredibly anxious, and I finally gave up months ago and stopped visiting. This is my happy place, and politics just don’t make me happy. I think if the thread titles were more “I disagree with this particular political decision” rather than “How can anyone be so stupid as to vote for a guy with dementia” or “ Look what the big Cheeto did today,” then I might not have so much trouble. It’s the nastiness I can’t take. And yes, it’s my problem, and I own it. My choice to stay away.
I popped in today just to see if things and calmed down. I agree with your post so much, it made me want to sign in to comment. LOL.
Big smile here.

I ran out of Mod Podge last night, so I need to buy more. I woke up this morning to find a 60% off coupon for Joann's in my email inbox. Yay!

What has made you smile today?Thats all. Happy Thursday (or Thrusday for old-timers) and carry on In-N-Out is opening in my state tomorrow! It has been coming for 2 years, and was scheduled for December, but they announced today that tomorrow is the big day! Of course, we just moved back to Stage Red and dine in is banned again. So the drive-thru line will be bigly huge.

About this time last year a Michael's store opened up just a couple of miles from me. Throughout the pandemic they've offered curbside pickup. I have another order to pick up there later today. I love how easy they've made crafting for me

I ran out of Mod Podge last night, so I need to buy more. I woke up this morning to find a 60% off coupon for Joann's in my email inbox. Yay! Kismet! So whatcha making? On a related front. About this time last year a Michael's store opened up just a couple of miles from me. Throughout the pandemic they've offered curbside pickup. I have another order to pick up there later today. I love how easy they've made crafting for me I pasted and copied this from a comment/post I made on the General Scrapbooking board. Twenty something years ago, I started a scrapbook style journal. It contains my thoughts and pieces of writing, quotes, clippings, other peoples pieces of writing that I like, my bucket list (printed out in increments of ten), sayings, favorite lyrics, etc... It is all very neat, organized, symmetrical, same size pages, all in sheet protectors, etc... Over the years, I've always admired mixed media journals and have wanted to switch to that type of "not perfect, messy, colorful, random, etc..." format. I was stuck in the "if it's not broke, don't fix it" and the "don't change what is already done" frame of mind.... as well as I like everything neat and organized, so it's out of my comfort zone......so I've hesitated for a long while to make the switch. Last week, I began to deconstruct my original journal. I will use the same binder-no sheet protectors, but I want to fill my binder with various size paper(scrapbook paper that I've been mod podge together for a thicker look and style). Some of the "typed" pieces of writing, quotes, etc...I will copy/write in my own handwriting. Some I will clip out and glue in. Some of the paper co-ordinates, some doesn't. For now, I am using a 1.5 inch binder, but I can always size bigger if I run out of room. I am loving the process of putting together my journal of many random pages. I can't wait to fill the pages.

I’m smiling today because I’m watching Les Miserables 20th Anniversary Program on PBS (taped so we can FF thru pledge stuff). It’s just as great as the live play. Can’t wait for the grand finale when all the former casts and Jean Valjeans march in!

I am also happy to see fewer political threads, but even more so I’m happy to realize I don’t need them anymore. Before the election I told myself if we can just get rid of him I can relax. I don’t have to be wound up, checking the news and Twitter to see what crap has happened today, and it’s working!! A calm is settling over me that will be even better come January. 😄

I delivered cookies I made to all 3 of my DSs living nearby--so I got to social distant visit for a few minutes with each of them. I miss them. Today I'm making an apple pie for DH & I. And a gal on FB marketplace is buying an item from me today (hopefully happens).

I also chose a dark charcoal grey to paint the walls which kind of scares me, but also thrills me. Can't wait to see how it turns out. Wow, that sounds lovely. How does one do this? We removed everything from my office. Then due to an old pipe leak, we redid drywall on one wall. The infared sauna came from Costco in pieces via these huge boxes that were left on our porch the day before our DD's wedding! LOL So that was an adventure trying to find a place for them. It's not like we had a house full of company due to covid, but DD did want to get ready here.
It's a 3 person sauna and by that I think they really mean 3 small children. No way could 3 people actually be comfortable together. I've ordered new light fixtures, a towel warmer that's rather splashy and I'm on the hunt for a small rug & some art for the room to give it a spa like feel.
We both turned 50 and had planned an African safari, so while we wait until that's possible, we hope this will be therapeutic.

I'm fine to scroll by a few threads I don't want to read, but the political threads have been too much for me in the last month or so. I'm hoping this is a start of a return to the fun place this has always been!

Such a good, fun idea, ScrapbookMyLife ! I happen to be similar to you in the stuff I save, but mine are in boxes. I'm going to redo them your way. My neighbor just texted to see if I had one egg. I looked out the window and her two sons, 7 and 3, were on their way to get it. I love seeing them, asking about their days, and then hearing them all (there are two others) playing outside. It's a gorgeous day today. Thanks for this thread, MichyM !

Happy smile today. Got a letter from DGS in training at Ft Benning GA. He says he likes the cards I've been sending him. I decided to make/send cards. Not a lot to write here from my single, months of SIP.
So it is a happy day!

My daughter and 7 of her friend circle are having a "friendsgiving" tonight and even better it's not at my house as I am not centrally located. It's neat to watch this group of 15 and 16 year old planning their menu etc. I love that she can drive on her own and pick up the girls that live at this end of the county. Before the covid police come after me. These girls sit together in school/classes, eat together in the cafeteria etc. They are all over each other all day long so them meeting together to eat after school doesn't give them increased risk of exposure. i love these young people so much. I am so thankful she has this posse!

I finally had the energy to repot and prune (with a lot of help from my mister) a ceiling height Ficus tree that was in serious danger of falling over and snapping. It was a big job involving moving furniture and all my breathing equipment out of the way but I am so pleased to have it done at last. The bedroom looks tidier now and the little LED lights will show up better.

I took a three month break from posting because the board had become such an angry place it was a source of stress instead of all the other things it should be. Maybe the collective we are moving back towards the things we have in common again.
