I wanted to add that there is no 'need' to get the fever down, bringing he fever down doesn't actually help in anyway...and there's a school of thought that it's beneficial to have a fever as this is one way the body fights the infection.
The fever isn't the problem, or the illness, the fever is just a symptom of the illness. The only real reason to take medication the get a fever down is if it is making you feel really hot/uncomfortable/miserable - it's a comfort measure to reduce fever but nothing else. It is not bad for your body to have a fever unless it gets really high (over 42C/108F is when a fever starts to get harmful) although most people start to feel uncomfortable enough at 40C/104F to warrant taking something to bring it down a little. So at your temperature of 99F is considered very mild and there is no need to take anything for that.
Remember the only reason you take medication for fever is to reduce that symptom for a few hours and to make yourself feel a bit more comfortable - those medications are not treating the underlying disease (covid/flu/cold etc) in any way.
