We have a Shark Power Lift Away vacuum that we bought 4 yrs. ago and are pretty happy with. I am also thinking about a cordless stick vacuum (upright) for quick vacuuming the kitchen and family room. So I need one that's good with tiles and carpet (if stick vacuums can do both).
If you have a recommendation I would love to know what you like. Also, if it has an attachment that you can use for vacuuming cars that would be great too! I hope that makes sense. I don't know what those attachments are called as we have always had a basic vacuum.

When I first read through this quickly, I thought you wrote that you wanted an attachment for vacuuming cats.

I bought a shark stick vac last year for the kitchen and touch ups. I mostly use in the kitchen and the bathroom on tile and hardwood and it works great. I do use it on some carpet but not much. It works for this but it doesn’t have as much suction as our regular vacuum. I also recently used it to clean up some dirt in my car. I just took the bottom head off of it. It won’t do as good of a job as our shop vac as that’s so much easier to maneuver with a hose vs a stick. I think I got it during a Black Friday or early sale last year. I like it for its ease of use and being so much lighter than our regular vacuum and bring cordless as long as you still have a regular vacuum for regular cleaning especially on carpet.

I am hoping to find some good sales this weekend. We have Consumer Reports, so I can check there too. I guess not many here use cordless vacuums. I thought they were really popular, but maybe corded are more convenient.

I’ve been reading reviews and on the hunt for one too. It seems like the best is the Dyson v11 Absolute. It has a different head for carpets and hardwood and several attachments including one for upholstery and car. It’s super speedy though - hoping for a Black Friday sake.
But I’m hoping to get rid of our canister vacuum - if you just need something for spot cleanups the v10 or even v8 are supposed to be very good.

I found a Shark cordless on clearance at Target for $230 so I snapped it up for our lake cabin. It doesn’t have as much suction as a normal corded vacuum, but the cabin has all hard surface floors so for that it’s fine.
One thing to be aware of is that the battery only lasts for about 50-60 minutes on a full charge and even less than that if I’m using the “boost” mode which has a little more suction.

I recently got the Dyson animal 8 when Costco had it on sale and really like it.

I'm looking for something similar. I sweep daily and vacuum up the debris pile with a handheld vacuum. I would like to eliminate the sweeping step. It only needs to work on hard surfaces, no carpet.
Any recommendations?

I purchased one from Amazon called DEIK. I wanted one for my camper so didn't want to spend a lot of money. It did a good enough job that I bought one for the house too. It's good for those quick daily cleanups even on the carpet. I wouldn't replace the good vacuum but for quick cleanups it's perfect.

I have a Deenkee I got from Amazon that I really like. They don’t have the model I have, but a very similar one is around $160. I never thought I would need a cordless stick vac as I have a nice Miele vac. But I use my cordless all the time.

I have a Dyson-cordless. I'm not sure of the exact model. but it's great for our downstairs, hardwood with area rugs. We use it in the cars too. It works great! I have the Dyson Animal upstairs, where it's all carpet with tile bathrooms and I don't think I would be happy with the cordless on the carpet. I'm seeing some great Black Friday deals on them.

There’s a YouTube channel called Vacuum Wars. They review many vacuums. I’m interested in a cordless stick vac that will pick up dog hair.
