He's just *blah blah blah* in the background now isn't he. Isn't it glorious to know that the insanity is delimited?

Yes, I think that the way the cases are being dismissed will make it much harder to get them to the Supreme Court. The judges’ rulings usually include verbiage about there being no evidence/no merit to the case whatsoever. It isn’t that there is actually something there that they are ruling on that the Trump campaign is objecting to, but that they have presented no substantial evidence to back their allegations. It will make it harder to the Supreme Court to even hear one of those cases without appearing highly partisan. And to make Trump president, more than one state has to have its results overturned, so that would mean multiple cases would have to be heard by the Supreme Court. Now, I never would have imagined Trump being elected in the first place, so I am willing to admit I may very well be proven wrong. I think it would be more likely that electors vote against the will of the people in their state.
But, it is beyond doubt, in my mind, that Trump lost the popular vote by 6 million votes/3.9%. Unless there are shenanigans, President Biden will be installed into the White House in January 20. Just because Trump is an incredibly bad loser, doesn’t mean he gets a second term - the people have overwhelmingly voted him out of office. I really hope you're wrong. If they did this then the US can say goodbye to the ballot box aa they become a dictatorship with frightening consequences. Here is a good article on the electors in Pennsylvania. Basically, both candidates choose their electors. The electors of the popular vote winner are the ones who will cast their vote. The only way Trump can get his electors in is if the totals haven't been certified (they have) or the outcome is in doubt (it isn't). If that happens then they could try to argue that a winner isn't clear or hasn't been declared and therefore the state legislature (which is republican controlled) could appoint its own electors. That is why he is trying to cause doubt or if SCOTUS would rule that the tally may be wrong then he thinks it could reverse certification. In any case, he would have to do it in multiple states for it to matter and I don't see any of them heading that way www.google.com/amp/s/whyy.org/articles/meet-pennsylvanias-electoral-college-voters-everything-they-can-and-cant-do/amp/

And are, rightfully, kicked out of the G7 or any other commerce organization where 'rule of law' and 'democracy' are at least given lip service.

However, we have seen publicly, and even on this board, that some of the right wing are perfectly okay with stealing the election and handing it to Trump. In fact, they aren’t just okay with it, they would actively support it. I hope for the sake of you all and your allies that they have seriously thought of the far reaching consequences of their actions if they go ahead with that. I just hope they sit back and think its not down to just keeping Trump in office, the consequences are far bigger than that.

I can’t believe they would destroy and risk so much to keep a leader who spends his time either in inane twitter ramblings or on the golf course . Seems he’s not very good at Golf either, if his bad language is anything to go by!

I can’t wait until they have to use the Oval Office Extraction Team. I imagine it will be a scene like in the ending of Christmas Vacation when Eddie kidnaps Clarke’s boss and the police come swinging in through the windows on ropes. Fun times! ps, there really isn’t an OOET, but should probably think about it. Where can I get an application to be on this OOET? They won't even need to pay me to do the job. Heck, if I had any money, I'd pay them for the privilege.

the biggest amount I've ever paid for pay per view... Bigger than all the money in J-ina. Trump would finally get the huge crowd numbers he's been crowing about! That idiot would probably brag about his best ever ratings.

Not that he ever worked much, but he has even given up the pretense of working. The hypocrisy from the right is deafening.

I do not believe the Supreme Court will be willing to take up any of his baseless claims, let alone to overturn the election. I find it highly unlikely any state legislature will try to install its own hand-chosen electors in place of the official ones. That is just a bridge too far. And I’m not even worried about guerrilla civil war breaking out, the way I was before the election. I think this slow roll-out of vote certifications has taken the steam out of their anger. It is what it is, and people are adjusting. I’m feeling somewhat good about things. Of course, Mitch McConnell can drop dead, as far as I’m concerned. hey, inkedup , how are you and DH feeling?

Gosh, I hope you're right about the SC. And Mitch McConnell We are feeling okay, thank you! Exhausted, mostly. I think we are probably through our first week of this virus. My husband takes meds for high blood pressure, so I worry more for him. If utter exhaustion is the worst thing I feel, I'll take it. Thank you for asking <3

This is what's actually stupefying to me. These were not bad attorneys; they were brilliant prosecutors. You expect that with the speed of these filings, there would be typos. But you don't expect good attorneys to absolutely IGNORE the necessity of a factual basis for their complaints.

Is he fucking threatening the entry of a President-elect?
How did he “prove” in 2016 that the votes he got are all valid? May be he can share his notes. Idiot

But you don't expect good attorneys to absolutely IGNORE the necessity of a factual basis for their complaints. I read a piece on Jenna Ellis in NYT this morning. She was never a brilliant prosecutor. She went to a third rate law school and was a county prosecutor in Weld County, CO - arguably the most conservative county in the state - before teaching pre-law and poli sci classes at a small university that doesn’t even have a law program. She’s not a constitutional lawyer as she claims, or a brilliant prosecutor - she’s an incompetent lying hack. And that pretty much sums up anyone who is still willing to work for Trump.
