Well I live in Huntington Beach California, which has become even more infamously known as OC’s Trump HQ and constant pro-trump rally location. Yesterday I was down at the beach and less than half the people were wearing masks. Today I was in Laguna Beach, which is way more liberal leaning, and most people had their masks on, including while exercising and on the sand. In Huntington almost no one had a mask while exercising or in the sand. The difference was night and day.

The comment that really irritates me is when they say, "Everyone I see in the store is wearing a mask, but they are still getting Covid. Masks don't work." Well, how about all the people having gatherings in private homes. A couple of people on my IG feed had big Thanksgiving gatherings with non-family members. There were a couple of Friendsgivings, and a couple of Girl's Night parties. All without masks. But.... "everyone that got together wears masks when they're out and about." I SO hate hearing that one! It's like, well, yes but who else are they hanging out with and are THOSE people wearing masks? It's like the sex thing... when you have sex with someone, you're pretty much having sex with everyone they've been with too. I trust NO ONE.

In my area (Boulder) which is very left leaning, everyone still wears mask religiously. I have not seen a decrease in it's frequency following the election at all.

They really need to teach Logic 101 in high school. SMH! I have many Republican friends who post things on FB and they think Democrats are illogical. They post things that are sometimes accurate. The problem is that everyone on social media is generally set on their way being 100% correct and the others are not logical. It's all about gotcha moments and no one is trying to fix anything.

I'm south of you about 2 hours and other than some people wearing them incorrectly, people are wearing them indoors. I think my area is more reddish purple.

I admit, outside if I'm socially distanced I tend not to wear a mask, especially if with my neighbors outside. I've had people get super testy when I'm walking a trail and giving the other person 10+ feet and then give me dirty looks or say something about not wearing a mask. I started just bringing a buff to pull up to make them feel better (and still give 10+ feet).

We just give each other a wide berth if anyone is maskless. Boulder is a little different than here though. My sister in law lives in Boulder and my first experience with the city (in the 80's) was going to the outdoor Boulder Mall and watching some young men play the guitar and howl. It went on for about 15 minutes. Since then my view of the city has been a little off!
