I'd keep it. Moussey would prefer a little big over too small. It's good to give the dog room to stand up and turn around comfortably with a little breathing room. For older dogs who just sleep in their kennel or use it on rare occasions, they don't need breathing room. But a puppy is different.
You could even cover the cage with a sheet/fabric shower curtain or even make a washable cover that goes with your decor.

Think about it this way—if you crate the dog while you are at work, it won’t be boxed into a tiny space, all cramped up. A dog should be able to fully stand up and turn around in its crate. But you know we need pictures!

We have THREE OF those in our bedroom. Yes...three. We have Great Danes. And yes, they are the correct size for our Danes. Our oldest is on the petite side for a Dane and She likes to sleep on her side with her legs straight out, and she takes up almost the entire kennel. I would definitely hang on to it if I was you. This is our big boy in his. He’s tucked up so you can’t really see how big he is. When he stretches out, he fills the bed and when he stands up, his head hits the top. This is him stretched out on his back so you can see how he fills the length of the kennel. Edit to add: they are a bitch to move. Our boy had explosive diarrhea in his last week (the idiot likes to eat mud when we aren’t looking) and I took it apart to take outside to spray down. It took me two hours to take down, clean and put back up. Edit again: so I’m not just talking about how he’s an idiot...he’s a pretty idiot. Just look at this face. Lol.

so I’m not just talking about how he’s an idiot...he’s a pretty idiot. Just look at this face. Omg. He's adorable. My son with the GSD who is the mama to our GSD bought a HUGE powdercoated steel fence-like contraption to contain her in their house, but still allow her to move around a lot. This one. It took up virtually all of their sunroom. They all worked all day and she was pretty crazy as a puppy -- a big chewer including window sills and furniture legs. She stayed in it until about two years old, but now is trustworthy with the run of the house when they leave. We have traditional style crate for our GSD that's 48 x 30 x 32.5 inches. He's graduated from sleeping in it at night, During the day, he's only it for limited times -- usually no more than three hours at a stretch.
