I'm afraid I'm not civilized enough to use either.
As it stands, with MoiraRosethePitney pup, I'd have to guard them and put them away if I left the room.

No and no.
We drink everything in RTIC or Yeti cups. No need for anything else.

We have used both at times. I really prefer an insulated cup like a Tervis though, then there is no need for either.

I have mostly vintage or antique furniture, so we regularly use coasters.
In fact, I’ve had to explain to my grown children that no, they don’t have to use coasters on their apartment IKEA furniture. Heh.

Koozies in the summer when I'm outside. Coasters sometimes, depending on the furniture the drink will set on. Our current end tables don't need them, but our last furniture we used them all the time.

Coasters yes if needed (wood, anything that could be ruined by liquid) Koozies only if I am on a lake in a boat, which is next to never.. lol I like my insulated non sweat cups that keep my drinks cold forever.. no need for coasters (unless I am at someone's house and I don't want to be rude)

We always use coasters, and usually koozies when outside.

I hate koozies. I use insulates cups outside. I often use insulated cups inside but if I don't I sometimes use coasters. I have about 5 different sets

I don’t think koozie usage is a sign of civilization... perhaps the opposite LOL.
Yes, we use coasters when needed, which is fairly rare because we mostly drink from HydroFlasks. Do not use koozies.

Koozies - no; Coasters - yes. My coasters are made out of tile, so are relatively dog-proof.

I had to look up koozie. I always thought they were for drinking cans of things at the beach or a picnic. I don't know anyone who uses them.
We do use coasters.

Not anymore. I drink almost exclusively out of RTic cups with lids or sometimes a Tervis cup.

I don't own any koozies - we don't really drink things straight out of a can. I have a ton of tervis cups -- that's mostly what we use. We definitely use coasters - I'm a notoriously messy person and my coffee mugs and water glasses always have spills down the side. With the coasters, at least the spills don't reach the table.

I keep a couple of coasters for DH. I don't put ice in my water so the glass doesn't need a coaster.

I use koozies outside during the summer at our pool and while camping.
Coasters are always within reach, even when I use an insulated cup. It just feels right.

yes to both.
coasters on the coffee and end tables and sometimes by the bed.
koozies keep your drink cold. i don't use them, because i rarely drink from a can. i use RTIC type cups for my drinks exclusively, unless i am having milk (no need for a coaster for me!). our coasters are tile, but i like the thirstystone ones best.

Of course we use coozies! How else would you hold an ice cold beer at a football tailgate party in the Fall or on a boat in the summer? I have a kitchen drawer full of coozies both at home and at our lake house.
We also use coasters. I wouldn’t worry about the dog stealing them though. Our coasters are thick glass coasters.

We always joke the DS was coaster trained by the time he was 1. Koozies are for outside, esp the softball diamond where we arent supposed to have things that are koozie-worthy.
I have lime green koozies that say "Drink up, Grinches!"

We had a few of the cardboard "bar" type coasters in our basement tv room. Til we got a dog. She became obsessed with snatching them off the end tables. She's a Brittany, so you're probably right about your pitney sharlag We now have heavy, marble ones.

I just purchased two sets of coasters for Christmas gifts. They have cool moose, bear, and wolves on them. They also have lots of friends who leave beer cans on tables, so they will use them.

sharlag I usually just grab a junk promotional magazine or one of DHs old magazines and use that as a coaster. I'm classy like that. If you used a magazine, maybe MoiraRose wouldn't chew it up. And I rarely use a koozie- which I used to call a huggie, btw. I don't like to drink out of cans.

I use an insulated cup of some sort. DH uses a coaster or koozie. He used to go to a *lot* of trade shows...the size of his koozie collection is impressive. Probably hundreds.

Coasters are used under any beverage at all times. Never heard of a koozie and assumed you meant cosy for a teapot, neither of which I do use and having checked with Google, I’ve never used a koozie either.

I use coasters. I drink water from a quart mason jar and I like to set it on a coaster in case there’s any condensation. We don’t have any koozies though.

We use coasters to protect the furniture.
We generally had koozies around from people's weddings and events that gave them as take-homes, but they rarely got used as no one really drank canned sodas or beer. Then we moved to this house with a pool and have started encouraging cans to avoid bottles breaking in or around the pool. I also keep an assortment of Tervis and other plastic glassware for the same reason.
