Here is our home made crystal tree and snow man after about 3 hours. The snow man on left I used insert paper from stampin up, which has a coating so I don't think it will work as well as regular cardboard. I used Mrs. Stewart, water, salt, ammonia.

I had never heard of these so I Googled and found this YouTube video This would be a cool project to do during vacation with kids. I remember getting the crystal growing kit as a kid, and it was so fascinating to watch them grow.

I am fascinated with growing crystals as I am a biochemist that tried to solve the structure of glucocorticoid receptor using cryo-EM technology...maybe TMI...love science...and little home projects so fun!
