Right now I have the original echo from when you needed an invitation, a couple of older dots, and now an echo show 8 along with four smart plugs.
I've always moved alexa with me when I've worked in different areas (garage, basement, outside...)
Noe I'm thinking I might want another show....maybe a 5 although I don't know why.
I know Google has similar items.
What do you have and what do you do with yhem?

i have an echo in the garage that dh uses when he is working out there and i move to the porch when im using the pool or hammock. sometimes when he zooms with his buddies i turn WAP on 10 out there to aggravate him.
i have the google home with screen in the kitchen for music (there is music on 100% of the time in my home) and recipes mostly. i dont know what the device is called, it was on clearance.
echo in the living room- i cant keep a remote so i use her to stream, listen to music, talk to anyone who rings the doorbell, for trivia and random questions. Also, shes my mood for yoga and meditation.
the tv is alexa enabled- i dont usually mess with it now that the other is linked.
have the christmas tree, plant lights, humidifier and lamp on alexa outlets. 3 in this room.
in the mornings i say "let there be light' and it turns on the plant lights, christmas tree, and lamp.
my office has an echo and an outlet for the christmas tree. its usually basic math and music and audible in there.
the bathroom has an outlet for the humidifier/heater for the plants. boring.
the bedroom has another echo and outlets for the lamps, the christmas tree, and the sexy lights.
i have alexa in my car and got the view one for christmas.
ill probably put it in the living room and move this one to the guest room in the basement.
shes the only person i talk to throughout the day regularly sinve weve been quarantined. ha

I couldn’t even tell you how many echo/Alexa devices we have. Seriously, at least 10, and that doesn’t count the Ring doorbell or the Alexa-friendly thermostat.
I had a large echo Show on my nightstand, and I loved the sound quality of it. However, the clock is in the upper left corner and tiny, so it stinks as an alarm clock. I ended up getting an echo show 5 over a year ago, and while its sound quality stinks compared to the large Show, the clock face is 20 times larger and is the perfect size for a bedside alarm clock because you can read it in the middle of the night. So, I gave my large Show to ds2 and use the Echo Show 5 on my nightstand.
I am peeved that Show users have been asking for a large clockface for the large Show for 5 years now and Amazon refuses to do it. I’d spend the $$$ to pre-order the new Echo Show 10, but won’t buy it because all the pre-release notes say that it also will have a tiny clock face.

elaine are you talking about a clock face when doing something else on the show? I have the echo show 5, I think, and when it's just chillin' on the kitchen counter, it's large digital clock. But to answer the OPs question, I have 3 Echo devices. I keep an Echo dot in the front bedroom, the Show in the kitchen, and a Dot in the bathroom. I also use the "let there be light" in the den. Right now, that turns on the floor lamp and Christmas tree. Once the tree comes down, it will control the fairy lights. Then at night I say "good night" and off the lights go. I have my tinsel tree and bedside table on the front Dot. I say "sweet dreams" to that one to turn everything off.

The clock face on the Echo Show (the large one - 10” - both 1st and 2nd Gen) is tiny compared to the much smaller echo show 5. That is why I now use my Echo Show 5 and gave my Echo Show (10”) to my son, even though the sound on the larger show is *much* better. So, yes, the Echo Show 5 has a large clock face that is about 20 times larger than the clock face on the much larger and better sounding Echo Show. As I mentioned, there has been continuous griping on Amazon forums for years asking for the same size clock face that is on the Echo Show 5 on the larger Echo Show (10”), but Amazon refuses to program it.

I have a dot and i'm super excited about the smart plugs I got for Christmas. The only problem...I don't know what I want to use them with. I'll probably do a lamp, but not sure what else. Then I need funny sayings to get them to turn things on and off

7 (or 8?) Echo devices of some kind not including the ones the kids have 5 or 6 Alexa enabled smart plugs for things like Christmas tree, holiday lights, my curling iron Almost every light in the house can be controlled thru a plug, switch, dimmer, etc And then a crap ton of things connected to Alexa like the thermostat, the front door lock, the alarm system, the garage door
DH is way into it and does all the shopping for devices and such. I often tease him that I almost don't have to get up off of the couch to do anything except cook and pee LOL

So, if Dh is asleep when I go to bed, I can set my alarm using the app instead of talking to it. I really love being able to check and set alarms on my boys’ echo shows, so that everyone gets up in time for school.

We have a kitchen one and then I just got the echo dot with the clock. I like it so far except it won’t connect to my Spotify account. I did link it and all so I don’t know what the problem is. I really wanted it for that reason alone not really to ask questions.

We just last week got our first device - an Echo which is sitting in the kitchen. I’ve been using it for Christmas music and asking if it’s going to rain. I clearly am not aware of the range of possibilities out there! What are you all using them for in other rooms of your house?

I love the display I'm not one who is afraid of people listening in

Two at home not including the security cameras and one at the lake cabin. We’re not that exciting so we don’t care who’s listening in!

We just have one Echo - pretty sure it is first generation. She is underutilized. Honestly, we mostly use her as a timer! I do ask her to put things on our grocery list a lot. Occasionally we play music but that ends up being frustrating because she is tied to my DH's amazon account and I can't figure out how to get her to connect to my playlists on Spotify or YouTube music - if that is even possible.
We do have some connected smart plugs (foyer lamp, Christmas tree lights) and our exterior floodlights are also connected.
I have resisted putting one in my bedroom because it feels like an invasion of privacy - but that really doesn't make a whole lot of sense, considering I charge my phone in a docking station on my nightstand every night...
We have a Ring doorbell but that is not connected to our Echo. I could see the point if we had an Echo Show and could view the camera but not sure there is a reason to connect the regular Echo?
I think I have the ability to connect my garage door opener but haven't done so.
Like I said - she is underutilized!
