I made it through breast cancer treatment. I'm cancer-free now...I guess I could say I beat breast cancer, but that was more the chemo, surgery and radiation, plus the doctors, nurses and techs who beat it. I just had to get through it, and I did--during a pandemic and while my father was coming to the end of his own cancer battle. It feels like an accomplishment but not one I ever want to make again.

Supported, facilitated and stood with my dad as he endured two deep-brain surgeries this year. I have severe health anxiety and never thought I could do it, but I did. And more importantly, he persevered through the agony and came through to live a better life post-surgeries.
Battled 20 years worth of clutter in our garage and made significant progress in clearing it out. Even our Christmas totes are now organized to the extent that when DD needed something last week, I walked to the garage and put my hands on it in under two minutes rather than having to go out and buy a replacement because we couldn't find the one we already had. I'm inspired to continue the decluttering throughout the house.
Invested time and love into expanding relationships with our dear neighborhood friends. In spite of (or because of) COVID, we spent even more time outdoors this past summer just kicking back and enjoying each other's company.

So many awful, awful things have happened to my family this year. The kind of things that are unbelievable and shocking in the worst way. I say every day, is this real life? One situation is still hanging wide open, and the other will be a lifelong trauma to my whole extended family. On top of this, my business is taking a huge hit. (Event industry)I am panicked after years of being okay, we are going to be starting from the bottom all over again.
Despite all of this I have lost almost 80lbs, hit my goal weight. I wouldn't have thought of any accomplishments before this thread, but this was a big one. An accomplishment I didn't think was possible. Yay me!

Took up watercolor painting. Learned to Zoom. Sewed and gave away hundreds of masks. Helped a dear friend with stage 4 cancer and Parkinson’s who lives alone.
Continued therapy by phone, dealing with worsening anxiety symptoms,

CONGRATULATIONS on your accomplishments!!!
I had to work a TON this year as I was short staffed until I hired someone in November. So my year was primarily taken up with work, which I guess was a good distraction at the beginning but it started to wear on me. I also purged a bunch of stuff from the house, still going, and pulled the trigger on renovating.

In April, I raised the money and opened a shelter for kids whose caretakers were hospitalized with Covid. It was really scary at the beginning because we were taking care of kids with Covid and were afraid of it. We are still providing quarantine services for kids now and we've learned a lot about this virus. I do look forward to the need for us to do this ending though, stepping into this has been hard. I've also finished due diligence on a merger and am working through the integration phase right now. It's been a TON of work, but my nonprofit organization will be even stronger when it's done. It's hard to believe we were able to get it finished while serving so many people through the pandemic.
I finished paying for my second kid to finish college...yay, only one more kid to put through college!
In September, I finally had ankle surgery to fix my ankle that had been broken for almost a year and I'm almost fully healed now.
...and I spent 6 weeks at the beach (which is the most time off I've ever had in a year).

This is an amazing thing! I'm so proud of how people like you have responded to this virus. Filling needs we didn't even know we had. Kudos!
