Exercise? Starting a new hobby? Learning to speak a new language? What was your biggest accomplishment this year?
We sold our house and moved, mainly because Covid and demographic changes made our house increase in value by 400% in 6 months. It was a lot of work but worth it - we moved close to the kids and did away with our mortgage.
Second best: I went back to playing guitar and relearned many of the chords I’d forgotten.

I completed my dissertation and earned an MBA, graduating with distinction. This is the biggie.
We sold our house and bought a new one downtown where I can walk to everything.
Surviving Stay at Home with a reasonable level of mental health.
Learned how to clean the house when we couldn't have cleaners in due to covid - bigger deal than it sounds as I'm useless with cleaning.
Seriously improved my cooking and baking skillz. I always enjoyed it but this year I figured if we're locked in we might as well eat well; and so we did.

It was hard working full-time, parenting, and going to school. It felt like such a huge achievement. I'm hoping you feel that proud too. You earned it!

Honestly? Right now I think it's just making it through the damn year. I feel a little at the end of my rope, but I digress.
Redoing DS's room after he left and converting it to a home office/guest room. Hosting 2 guests in said guest room for a total of 3 weeks during a pandemic when I was scared to death Expanding the landscaping in our backyard, which is our oasis Reaching the "we've paid off 50% of our credit card debt" and not incurring any new debt milestone Being able to help DS with his expenses in his apartment Mostly stopped biting my nails (thanks, ColorStreet) Took Christmas decorations down in a timely manner (Christmas Day!) and packed them all in new boxes in an organized fashion Made all of our holiday cards (Maybe never again)

My accomplishments were tiny, I learnt to knit socks and made 12 pairs. I started to learn Japanese, I can count to ten and know a few other random words.

Somewhere between breaking my good leg in January (the one without neuropathy and a knee needing surgery)spending time in PT, covid and my mom's death in July I managed to lose 80 pounds. Since then I've dropped another 23 lbs. I'm the lightest I've been in almost 30 years! When you've got a cast from foot to hip it's pretty hard to get to the fridge

Supported a large teaching staff through both remote and hybrid learning as instructional tech coach, including training 700 teachers in using Zoom, learning management systems, and other apps/online teaching strategies. Now I need to lose about 30 lbs because my cortisol levels are through the roof! LOL! But I'll let that be a 2021 accomplishment.

During the spring shutdown, I spearheaded a community collection of foods for the local pantry and pet shelter.. Along with four other ladies, we opened our homes (garages) one week a month for contactless collection and delivery to the pantry/pet shelter. We continued through the summer and fall. Getting to know the other volunteers better was a big plus!

I've not accomplished anything of note.
Survived.
Surely not thrived.
Didn't die.

i have been self-employed and done shorter term, unstable gigs for the last 3(ish) years. i have not had a full time permanent job since i went off on my mat leave with my 13 year old (i did have a long term part time job from 2013-2017).
i managed to secure a full time, permanent job (with benefits) during a pandemic.
nice to have a steady paycheque (even though it's not fantastic pay - it's better than many right now). i love the staff i am getting to know slowly by working remotely. i have had a couple of massages and a dental appt in january!!!

Nothing very noteworthy, but I did survive having DH work from home all year and we didn't kill each other. I think it was a good taste of what retirement might look like in a few years. The key for us living in a small house was to each have our own space to retreat to.
On a personal level, I am proud of trying to grow a cutting garden from seed. I had a few successes and quite a few failures, but I learned. I am excited about getting my seeds started again indoors in the next couple of months. Last year I bought a grow light and all the supplies, so I am all set. It was so satisfying to check on my little babies daily and made the months and months of staying home more pleasurable.

Learned to do my job in an entirely new way, twice, on two different platforms (switched schools in August).
Significantly increased my alcohol tolerance. 🙄
Still alive!

I sewed about 750 masks to donate to the peeps in my hood I knitted a scarf to donate to a veteran’s group. That felt good because I’m a slow knitter. I have written some technical processes at work that were very complicated so I’m very proud that I figured it out.

A book I wrote about an F5 tornado which struck my hometown in 1955 was published by the publications division of a state museum. It made the statewide bestseller list several weeks in a row. All the proceeds from the book went to the state museum and my hometown’s museum. It’s the first and last book I’ll ever write! 😁

I didn't kill my kids or DH who all went from being gone all day to being home 24/7. I never realized how much I enjoyed working from home ALONE.
That aside, I've relearned how to knit. Kids got mittens recently. MIL will be getting a pair soon.
