What type of laundry soap do you prefer? Not the brand, but the type. Liquid, pods, powder (is that even an option anymore?)
I’ve always been liquid until today, and I bought a pack of the pods. I’ve done a couple of loads tonight and everything seems softer, but it doesn’t say there’s a fabric softener in there. If you use pods, how many per load do you use? I have a HE washer.

Liquid + powder Oxyclean on some loads. Yes, you can still get powder Tide. It is what my mother always used and I bought some for her house back during the summer.

Liquid in the dispenser, borax powder in the drum, Lysol laundry sanitizer- liquid in the softener spot. 4 wool dryer balls in the dryer.

I have been using liquid (Tide and Persil). I bought powered Tide because this cleaning group I follow think it's the best thing ever. I don't notice a difference at all. But I still have to use up the powered Tide! haha!

I switched to powder after using pods and dealing with random oil stains that weren’t on the clothes when they went in the wash. I don’t know why I ever stopped using powder, we always used it when I was a kid. I use two tablespoons for a regular load, it takes forever to go through a box.

The pods I tried (seventh generation maybe) didn’t completely dissolve in my HE washer. I use liquid now but have also used powder with equal success. We are a fragrance free home, when it comes to laundry, and I recently discovered the Downey Free formula and started adding it into the routine.

Tide Free and Gentle Powder. Works much better than liquid, IMO.

www.nelliesclean.com/shop/laundry-soda/?attribute_size=500+Loads+%28bucket%29I have used this for quite some time and can't imagine what would make me switch. Liquid does not do well with my front loader. Used to have a smell I worked feverishly to get rid of. Have not had that problem since switching to Nellies. I do mix a very small amount of Purex Crystals in with the Nellies. It only takes a Tablespoon of Nellie's per wash. I don't use any fabric softener at all.

I use liquid (Persil or Trader Joe's) but I also have the Tide Pods with Downy and I love that smell!
I use the Pods for full loads. For smaller loads I pour the liquid. NO pods for towels b/c of the fabric softener.

grew up using powder and used it until I moved to Florida - it didn't work well with the hard water here so I switched to liquid. Our new house has a whole house water softener system so I'll have to see what works best with that

Tide pods. I’ve never had an issue, and our clothes come out clean. One per load

I use Gain liquid because it works and I love the smell I use Gain fabric softener sheets in my dryer too ... definitely not fragrance free here!

Liquid Persil ( heard about it here ) and sometimes, either powdered Borax or Oxyclean. I always do 2 rinses. And, I plan my laundry days around the weather. I am obsessed with my old style, 4 line, clothes line. Ridiculously so. 🤪

Liquid.
I use All free and clear, because of my skin sensitivities. I've used it for years.

Tide pods. I used to make my own, but got tired of that.
One per load, plus liquid fabric softener when washing clothes.

Tide liquid and downy liquid fabric softener.
Interesting so many use powder. I thought it went out with studebakers. I remember my mom stirring powder in the washer before adding clothes - and it would still leave a residue on clothes. Does today’s powder dissolve better?

Liquid. We used pods before we got an HE washer. I'm not comfortable with putting pods in with the clothes before the water. We have enough issues with detergent residue!

I used to prefer powder, but switched to liquid probably 10 years ago now and will stay with liquid. (Tide for the 19 y/o's clothes and our dirtier clothes from work, yardwork, etc -- Gain for sheets, towels, underthings, and at-home clothes.)
I do not have an HE machine. I got a new washer/dryer set about five years ago and purposely hunted down an old-fashioned top-load machine with an agitator. That's the only kind I ever intend to have.

Liquid (tide) or powder (Buff City) never pods. The pods don't dissolve in my 19 year old washing machine. Bufff City laundry soap has a huge following in my area. People bring it as a hostess gift instead of wine! Lol It's powder and comes in a ton of very fragrant scents. My dear friend pays extra for their double scented detergent. Good thing I like it!

I really like TRUE EARTH LAUNDRY STRIPS I've been using them since August or so. Saves a lot of space in the laundry room, and landfills.

I use pods - specifically Persil with Oxy. Also use the bar of soap for stains (Fels-Naptha).

I prefer powder, but our laundry room is in an unheated/airconditioned room right outside my back door, so it gets hella humid in there and makes the soap clump, so we use liquid (which I HATE because of all the plastic waste). I haven't tried pods because they are much more expensive than what I typically buy.

I use tide liquid. We have soft water, and it’s only me, so I use about 1/2 the amount recommended. I also use the second rinse option on my machine because I hate a residual fragrance.
Speaking of fragrance, does anyone have a substitute for Oxyclean bluing? I’m about halfway through my first container of it and OMG it stinks. And the stink lingers. But, I have white sheets and towels and I do like how it minimizes yellowing.

I use Tide pods in my washing machine. (I tried Persil but didn't feel that they cleaned as well) I use powdered Tide for other household cleaning. I heard about it by following GoCleanCo (a Canadian cleaning company) on Instagram. I am intrigued by the True Earth Laundry Strips mentioned above. I do this too and works great!
I haven't used fabric softener or wool balls in the dryer in years. Maybe I should try that again.
I see quite a few influencers talk about the Glamorous Wash laundry detergent that is supposed to be so wonderfully scented. It is crazy expensive so while I am intrigued I am holding off on trying it. Any peas with experience using it?

I mainly use liquid Persil, because nothing cleans like Persil. I also use Persil Pods, mainly because the Persil Pro Clean pods smell so good! I love laundry that smells good, so if you are one of those who hates any scent - you might not want to read any further... So I have quite a concoction of laundry products; •Frey liquid in the Sandalwood/Bergamot/Clove scent. This stuff is expensive and a nightmare to actually get. But it smells great! LOL • Distinctive Washing Powder, in the Amber scent. This is a powder that comes from UK, but I can order through Amazon. I also use Rockin' Green powder to soak smelly stuff in. It really gets rid of that super funk smell that laundry can get, especially if you have sweaty peeps. LOL I like my laundry to smell, but not that funky smell!

I use the bucket of Kirkland powdered laundry soap from Costco. I have an old-fashioned top loading washing machine with an agitator. The powder dissolves easily and doesn't leave a scent. Just clean clothes. A bucket will last me six months or more. I've been using that soap for years now. I've been tempted to try pods but money wise, the powder is way cheaper.

I don’t know why I ever stopped using powder, we always used it when I was a kid. I use two tablespoons for a regular load, it takes forever to go through a box. I use Lestoil on oil stains on clothing. It works every time for me—even with set in stains that might have been missed in a previous wash. Also, it’s very inexpensive—like $3.50ish for a large bottle and you can use it for household greasy clean up too. It smells a little industrial but I set the washer for an extra rinse if I think it’s going to be an issue.

I've been using a brand of laundry soap called "Charlie's Soap" that sounds a lot like the brand mentioned above. "Charlie's Soap" comes in liquid or powder and I prefer the powder. I get it from Amazon. I also buy their booster product which helps when you have hard water like we do. I'm glad to hear about Nellie's Soap and might give it a try to see which one I like best.

Even if the clothes have gone through the dryer. I don’t have industrial stains to deal with, just a random grease spot here and there.
