Doesn't resigning now screw the country still?
I'm upset so I will resign and allow him to put someone loyal to him in there instantly?

They’re bailing so they don’t fuck up potential for future employment.

I think Trump is so out of control ranting tonight that he’s scaring people. Oh to be a fly on the wall.

Leaving this idiot alone in the Oval Office is not being a patriot now. We have never been more vulnerable to foreign threats than at this moment when chaos rules our government. Just because they found their morals now abandoning a nut job leaves us all sitting ducks. If we can’t rely on the Cabinent or Republican Senate to pull out the 25th amendment we can not leave the White House to the Trumps and Kushner.

who all is resigning? or has resigned? I haven't seen any news from actual sources, just from here. (It's easier on my mental health, lol.) From CNN: Former White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney, who still had an administration job as special envoy to Northern Ireland, told CNBC in an interview Thursday morning that he called Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Wednesday night to resign. "I can't do it. I can't stay," Mulvaney said in the interview. Mulvaney joined a growing list of administration staffers who have resigned after a mob of Trump supporters attacked the US Capitol. On Wednesday in addition to Pottinger, the first lady's chief of staff Stephanie Grisham, a press aide and the White House social secretary all resigned. On Thursday morning, a senior administration official confirmed that John Costello, the Commerce Department's deputy assistant secretary for intelligence and security, resigned from his post. Ryan Tully, senior director for European and Russian Affairs, also resigned from the National Security Council, a White House official confirmed. And Tyler Goodspeed, the acting chairman of the Counsel of Economic Advisers at the White House, submitted his resignation Wednesday, according to a person familiar with the matter.

Talk is that Chao has bailed maybe doesn't not want to be involved with 25th Amendment talk, although it does cut how many are needed percentage wise.

Chao is a coward. If she's disgusted with Trump (she is not or else she and her husband wouldn't have supported him all this time - remember, McConnell could have removed him from office following the impeachment a year ago) she should stay and do the right thing (the 25th).

Mulvaney has been on the shit list already for most of us in South Carolina. This action really can't cause him to sink any lower for me.

i believe the true backbone of any company is the support staff. i think the departments can hold themselves together for the next 12 days even if their leaders start abandoning ship. so let them resign. i'm just waiting to hear that betsy de voss has resigned too.

Despite what happened yesterday, the GOP still demands loyalty above all else. People are trying to serve two masters (party vs country) and their calculation is that they need to leave the sinking sink, lest they be taken down with it. But they have to do it in a way that tells the rest of the party that they are still worthy. They still can't do anything that might give the appearance of "the opposition was right." Even for future private sector employment, the structures of power must be upheld and anyone who might have/grow a conscience at some point will be overlooked for those willing to tow the line.

I also heard this morning some want to resign but they are afraid of who Trump will give their position to. They know he, Trump has lost it and could appoint anyone to any position.

Under normal circumstances you would be correct. The problem now is that some of the lower and middle level staff has been gutted by this administration. This is true in all the different departments.
