I think if they don’t quit him they’re going to lose any moral people in the party. Crazy how many of them are more concerned with re-election than the well being of the country.

I think if they don’t quit him they’re going to lose any moral people in the party. Crazy how many of them are more concerned with re-election than the well being of the country. Unfortunately, I've come to realize there is quite a few less of those "moral people" than I've ever realized. It's both frightening and saddening. oh, and maddening. |

Most of the ways we measure morality have to do w/virtue signaling: people using the word God or Jesus in their profile, what jobs people have, saying things like "family man", etc. Bullshit. Tell me about your ACTIONS. Tell me about your harm/help ratio. I'll approximate your morality from there. |

He does seem to carry himself like a Mob Boss. And I'm sure he replaced "fixer" (Michael Cohen) with a new one. It wouldn't be a stretch to think he does have dirt on every single one of them. It's not like they any moral compass, so I'm sure there is stuff from their past that could be dug up with the right lawyers. |

I was going to say the exact same thing. Five years ago, I said that there was no way he'd be nominated by the GOP. Voters were too smart & ethical to stoop that low. Then he got nominated & I said he'd never be elected, however I wasn't so sure because I don't think that Clinton was the right person at that time. I voted for her though. So then he got elected and we had to survive 4 years of torture and the GOP blindly supported him even through the impeachment. Then his quest for reelection. Surely, his party would see through him. Surely, it would be a landslide loss. Nope. It was close enough that we had all the claims of voter fraud & stealing the election from him. Even the senators & representatives who we used to respect & feel that they had the best interests in our nation blindly supported him. I don't know what to think anymore. Good people still think he was a good president & is still good. I thought I'd feel better about life & politics after Biden took office but the hate & ugliness just gets worse. |

Is having your head in the sand, having that pointed out to you repeatedly and then willingly wanting to stay in your underground comfort zone make you a good person? I don't know but I think at some point you have to take responsibility for the side you choose. Hiding behind your comfortable with non-facts isn't valid to me anymore. |

1. Those who analyze say that the GOP is still clinging to DT because "his base" is needed for votes. The plan is to have the base vote for whoever is running for office.
2. In 2019 and 2020, when DT campaigned for candidates, that candidate did NOT get a bump and most did not win with his support.
3. In 2020, while several million did vote for DT, the majority rebuffed him and Biden won.
4. DT could not pull off the win in Georgia congressional offices recently.
So WHY do current GOP politicians think they need to stick to DT? His influence does not seem to give the gain that is envisioned.
