Mine are stainless. I don't really find them that difficult to keep clean. What I DO find hardest to keep clean is my stove top, but I think it's just because I haven't found the right cleaner. The stove top is black and it streaks like nobody's business! I almost dread cooking because the top is going to look like crap until the next time my cleaning lady comes. I should probably just ask her what she uses As far as appearance, I switched from white to stainless about a year ago, and the stainless looks so much better. The white just looked dated to me. And small hijack: My stainless steel cleaner smells exactly like Pledge. Are the cleaning products people just jacking us over by relabeling furniture polish as stainless steel polish and charging more? Vinegar or alcohol . I keep some in a small spray bottle from the dollar store, works great on the streaks.

Stainless and ours hardly show fingerprints. One half of our fridge is magnetic and the other isn't, but both sides look the same and resist fingerprints the same.
I love our stainless.

Stainless steel and I love it. Well, the stove is still an older black and white, but it will be replaced in the spring, hopefully with a slide in model.
My fridge does get finger prints, but it's easy to clean with a damp microfiber cloth. My husband discovered that my lemon vinegar protects it pretty well from finger prints though. I made my lemon vinegar by soaking lemon peel in vinegar. I zested and squeezed the lemons first and it still worked fine.

BLACK and I make no apologies for them. I have, what I consider to be, a nice stovetop and hood (Thermador) that are in stainless. I absolutely HATE them. I am forever getting out the ammonia to clean them. I would slit my throat if I had a stainless frig.

Stainless. If we couldn't have stainless I would do black. I have no issues with fingerprints or keeping my appliances clean.

Stainless. I love, love the look but the fingerprints drive me crazy. I use water and a microfiber cloth and they clean up beautifully but I use my kitchen a lot and stainless just doesn't stay clean. I knew that going in but bought them anyway because it was the best choice for the looks of my kitchen.

White. I'm not a fan of stainless and really like the clean, fresh look of white. One thing about stainless is it will not be timeless, and when it goes out, it will be way out. Every single design show will be ripping out all the stainless, like it is the plague and putting in who knows what.
If you love it, then do it. That's how I feel about my white.

Mine are white. I like the look of stainless steel but I don't like it in my itty bitty kitchen. The white keeps the tiny space looking much lighter and brighter. I also did not like how much more expensive the same models were just to get them in the stainless steel.

White.
Anything else would look out of place in our old house.

Stainless. Just finished making the switch last year after 15 years of white.
I hear white is making a comeback (seriously).

Stainless. Our last place had black and I much preferred them. Stainless and a 3 year old = Mommy frustration.
For those with streak problems on your black cooktops, do your scrubbing thing to get them clean and then use a little glass cleaner to finish up. My MIL taught me that when she made us dinner after I had YDS. I was amazed. Now, I keep one of those Windex Touch-ups containers next to the stove for just this reason.

Fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing maching and dryer are all white. Oven is stainless steel.
I like the look of both, it's just that the stainless steel versions are more expensive. When we were looking to get a new fridge/freezer, the one we wanted was about $300 more in stainless steel. I wasn't prepared to spend that.

Black and I hate them. The stove never looks clean and I swear I scrub it every other day. I don't mind the black frig or dishwasher...just the stove. Same here. I like the black as my cabinets are white. But I also don't like the stove always looking dirty

We had white in our previous house, but it was an old house so anything else would have looked weird with the white cabinets. In this house we have a black double oven, dishwasher, cooktop and microwave and our fridge is a SubZero with cherry wood doors to match the cabinets. I don't know that I would have paid what it cost for it but it sure is nice! The wood is very forgiving when it comes to fingerprints, etc. The one thing I would change if I could would be to swap out the electric cooktop for natural gas. With the gas, when it's off it's OFF. I hate how long the electric burners stay hot.

Refrigerator, cook-top and dishwasher are stainless. Ovens and trash compactor are black. The fridge is a Samsung sateen or something like that. Looks like stainless but doesn't get messy looking. I love it!

I wish I could like white, but after having white cabinets and white appliances at our our house, I just think they look so blah and outdated. We switched to SS there before we moved and the before and after pics of white vs SS were amazing. It made the kitchen pop whereas the white on white from before looked weird. In this house, we have a large kitchen with brown/cherry cabinets and white just wouldn't look right with those either. So SS it is.
My one complaint is the glass flat cooktop on the stove. Omg it is forever looking dusty and streaky and dirty and I swear I wipe that thing at least 2x a day!

The dishwasher has a black front and came with the house. The stove and fridge are white. I love the look of white. It fits the style of our home really well.

It now "pee's" on the floor every few days because there is a leak/blockage somewhere and water collects under the crisper and then spills out. We got an AMAZING deal this week at Home Depot with their pre-black friday sale. Our was orginally $2700 but it was down to $1789 its a french door with DUAL ice makers. We also got a military discount for Veterans day. We just couldn't beat that.

Some parts have been replaced. It needs new seals soon. I would just like to make it a planned purchase and not a, Oh heck, we've got to buy one right now purchase. I'd like to thank your family for serving our country. Enjoy your new fridge.

White in one house and black in our other house. The black is by far harder to keep looking spotless. However...we were in Home Depot the other day and saw some really cool appliances in Graphite. Too bad none of mine need replacing. I wouldn't do stainless for myself only because I used to work in food service and HATED polishing it.
