I've been under a rock. We have Netflix and I've been watching some movies on that. I'm looking for other movies. So tell me about Amazon Prime (in small words). I really don't want to pay for another streaming service.
I do have Amazon Prime. Does this mean I can watch movies that are listed within Amazon Prime for no charge?
I'm so disappointed that they've added another streaming service with.....oh, whatever the name of it is. Our TV's aren't smart TV's as they are old. I can use Apple TV to display from my laptop to the tv if there is something on Prime I want to watch.

Yes if you have Amazon prime you have access to Amazon prime streaming. There is both free to you movies and series as well as ones that can be purchased. The free ones have a blue prime banner in the corner. You can’t stream Amazon through Apple. Just log into your Amazon acccount on your laptop and click on the prime video and it’ll take you into it. Any show or movie that has the Amazon prime symbol on the upper left corner is free.

Thanks ladies!!
Off to see what else I can find. Within Apple tv there is an Amazon Prime icon. So I clicked that and then there was a code. From there I found Amazon on my laptop, entered the code. Now it looks like I can watch Amazon Prime stuff through Apple TV without having to mirror it from my laptop.
Apple TV has all sorts of icons within it. I haven't looked at hardly any of them.

The easiest way to make a not so Smart TV into a Smart TV is to get a streaming device that hooks up to the HDMI port.
The one I like that is the cheapest and easiest to use is a Roku Stick. For about $25, you can hook that up to your TV and stream just about anything. You can add Netflix and Prime to it easily and just log in to watch the content.
If you can cast from your Mac to the TV = that works too. I think you can access Prime through Apple TV.

Some Amazon Prime movies we watched recently. Don’t know if they’re free or pay. Synchronic (‘20 AmazP) time travel; 3 Stars.
Born a Champion (‘21 AmazP) Jijitsu fighting story; Rocky-like; 4.5 Stars.
Fatale (‘20 AmazP). Hilary Swank as a detective in a cat n mouse game; 3 Stars.
Promising Young Woman (‘20 AmazP / Vudu) 5 Stars.
Wolves at the Door (‘16 Vudu/AmazP) Scary thriller loosely based on Charles Manson; 4 Stars.
HONEST THIEF (Oct ‘20 Liam Neeson - AmazonP) 4 Stars.
THE BOOK OF HENRY (‘17 Hulu/AmazP/HBO) (really sad part in middle for about 15 minutes which made it a 4 and not a 5); 4 Stars.

You’re going to want to watch The Marvelous Mrs Maisel. It’s wonderful!
We use a Firestick to watch Prime. I think I paid $15 for it 2 years ago in a Prime Day deal

When I go to prime video I click on the "free for me" button at the top so that it ONLY shows me stuff I do not have to pay any additional fees for.
