I caved and bought one of the alphabet sets. Couldn’t pass it up for the price.

Of course the Magic Mat isn’t in stock. It rarely is. I’ve been wanting one for months.
Oh well I picked up one of the alpha dies and a couple of stencil. Couldn’t resist the kitty faces.

I placed an order last weekend....and ordered an alpha die 😒 Don’t think I paid full price for it though - cos the conversion rate to NZD would have killed me

I saw that skinny die alphabet used by a YouTuber and loved it. I also had a cloud stencil in my cart for weeks. Should be here in 4-6 days. Loved that shipping was under 5 bucks this time.

Shipping was way to high to Canada for the items I wanted. But a very impressive sale!

Oh man...I really love those skinny alphas, but I have been buying a lot lately so I will have to wait for the next time this sale comes around.

I haven't bought anything yet. I'm trying to be so good but it's so hard.

I checked my wishlist and didn't see anything reduced significantly. I figure if I have so much crap on my wishlist that I'm pretty "meh" about, if something isn't on my wishlist I needn't go browsing.

Yeah, if they can reduce them that much and still make some money I'm not keen to pay full price for them ever! But some of the alpha dies were tempting. The skinny ones look too fiddly for me to bother with though (that's how I'm convincing myself I don't want them).

My plan is to create 2" strips of whatever paper I'm going to cut them out with, back that paper with the double-sided adhesive from scrapbook.com, and then run those through my machine so that it's automatically sticky once the letters are die cut. (If that makes sense?)

You all should (or maybe not?) sign up for their text VIP group. They send links for free stuff all the time. This does not make me shop anymore than I normally would, but it is certainly nice to get something free if I was going to buy anyway. Yesterday I got the advertised 5% discount plus a free SB.com stenciling brush.
Also got: Bold alpha and the tag dies. I love that the tag one has a giant tag up to 8 inches! A Pinkfresh die A bunny head die Some adhesive foam

(If that makes sense?) Yes, that's smart! I have used the double stick adhesive before die cutting and it's definitely better than gluing for some things. I sometimes hesitate to do this because I had sheets of adhesive and it seemed wasteful, but using the 2" strips would be a lot better! I still manage to tear letters and have trouble with not sticking them where I mean to though... using glue gives me some fumble/wiggle room. I might just be clumsy.

They have it in other sizes too, but the 2" size will hopefully do what I want it to. I haven't tried it yet, simply because I usually only scrapbook trips we take, and well, those aren't happening right now. I also thought the 2" would be a good size because the alpha dies I'm planning on using are about 1.625" tall. Hopefully it works. I just know I'd make a mess if I tried to use glue on the letters since they're soooo thin.

TFS. Unfortunately, nothing in my cart is included in this sale.
For thin alphas & other difficult-to-adhere items, I’ve used the Xyron X150 for over a decade.

I was thinking about getting one of those. I think the reason I want to do the double-sided adhesive is that I'm planning on cutting out the names of alllll the places we go for the trip I have in mind, and the Xyron might take forever. Then again, it'll be a while before we feel safe travelling again, so who's to say I won't change my mind a million times between now and then. XD

XD Keep in mind dies may not cut well through cardstock-weight paper plus double-sided adhesive & will need to be cleaned after each use. Therefore, I prefer the less messy & time-consuming chore of feeding diecut letters (multiple at a time) through the X150 than figuring out how to remove adhesive from the crevices of each letter die & risk ruining them.

The dies were on my doorstep this afternoon. That was pretty darn quick. They said 4-6 days and it was 4 days even with the bad weather and pandemic.

Thanks! I'll reach out to them. It's annoying when some companies will openly provide that info, but others are mysterious about it. Most of the Doodlebug I've bought is the same weight, not really heavy like Carta Bella, which is definitely card stock weight. I feel like all of the Doodlebug stuff is about the same weight as normal double sided scrapbook paper, the stuff you'd get from an AC brand, not too heavy, not too thin. I haven't tried it with adhesive and die cutting, but I could if it would be helpful. I have lots of Doodlebug paper.
