The power companies for Southwest Power Pool have activated a level 3 alert. Because of a possible power shortage, they are going to begin 20-60 min black outs. It is -8 and windchill is -15!!! I’m worried about all of the elderly! This is crazy!!

YIKES. I am in Missouri, and we are hovering around zero with negative wind chill. Our gas company has asked people to cut back on their natural gas usage to avoid power shortages. I can't imagine losing power when it is so cold.

Rolling black outs are manageable. Power totally off can be an emergency for the elderly and very young.

20-60 minutes rolling blackouts shouldn't drop the temp in the house too bad. Bundle up and hope it's over quick!!

Rolling blackouts don't suck too much as long as they stay the 20-60 minutes

Oh no! We’re in the middle of the same thing! Prayers that if your power dies go out, it doesn’t stay off for longer than they intend. It’s only supposed to be 15-45min here, but many, many people have been without power for hours.

20-60 minutes rolling blackouts shouldn't drop the temp in the house too bad. Bundle up and hope it's over quick!! Hopefully they will be truly rolling. What started as rolling blackouts in Texas last night at 1 am has turned into 1.2 million households being without electricity for 12+ hours in record low temps.
