I've gone through menopause ( I'm 54 now) and didn't have many issues besides irregular periods and an occasional hot flash. Now I just get a hot flash once in a while. Both my Mom and my Grandma had an "easy time". Glad I did too!

I kind of equate menopause with the start of old ladydom so yeah to me it's wrong to hope for it. I've never had any trouble with my periods always regular and light with no pain and at 45 they're still that way, maybe if I had a monthly crime scene I'd feel differently.

I completely agree with this! I'll be so sad when menopause hits. I'm 48. I would also probably feel differently if I had difficult periods.

I don't mind being older. I think I've always been "older" in my mind and now my age has caught up to where I was mentally. Does that make sense? lol
Up until the frequent visits started, I was giving birth every month. Okay, it just felt like it. Horrid cramps and ***uber graphic warning**
No, seriously, stop reading if you have a weak stomach.
Okay.....
There would be a bit of bleeding the first day, everything would come out in a huge (to me) clump some time on the second day, and the third day was "clean-up". I was going through most of a box of 50 tampons during those days. Now, it's half that but more often.
