So when the customer service line says it will be 7+ minutes until a representative is available, do you use the callback feature? I usually don't because 99% of the time it results in them never calling back. It happened again yesterday thus I doubt I will ever use the feature again. What about you?

If I call, I wait if I have the time. I’ll put my phone on speaker and then go about my life.
But more and more, I use the “call me” feature online. I almost always get a call within 5 minutes that way. I’ve also used the Online Chat feature a few times, but find that 50% of the time I need to call anyway because the CS rep doesn’t seem to have as much decision making power as a real person does. At least that’s what I’ve found with Amazon.

No. I have a robocall blocker on my phone so the call back calls can’t get through. I will wait or try to call back another time.

If I call, I wait if I have the time. I’ll put my phone on speaker and then go about my life. I usually do this, But when I was dealing with GE all of those months, I would do call back. Sometimes it would take 2-3 hours but they did always call. Now AT&T- rarely call back, but when I do finally talk to someone they hear my rant.

I’ve done both and can’t recall ever not getting a callback. I do just generally wait until I have time to make that type of call, put it on speakerphone, and get something else done in the meantime.

They won't call back. I hold and wait.

Chat is online typing so I dont think they usually offer a callback option.
As for a phone call, it depends. I requested a call back from.our state unemployment office 2 and a half weeks ago and still nothing, so def not with them!

I have used it once or twice. I'm called and then I am still on hold!! So now I just sit and wait.

I do the callback. It has never taken more than 30 minutes to get called back

It all depends on who you are dealing with. Some call back, some don't. I have had prompt call backs from Amazon and Paypal. Walmart is useless in almost any ... Grocery returns/refunds online is easy and very efficient. Talking to customer service is difficult although they are extremely pleasant, saying sorry etc, but no supervisors, actual problems solving, not so much.

I think for me it really depends on what else is going on. Sometimes I will do the callback thing and other times I’ll just sit on hold. If I know I have no other pressing thing to do and I don’t plan on going anywhere anytime soon, I’ll just put the phone on speaker and wait while I do other stuff around the house. If I know it’s only going to be ten minutes or less, I’ll wait. If the message says it will be 30+ minutes from the get-go, I’m less likely to sign on for that. I don’t think I’ve ever had a situation where I put in my phone number for a call back and didn’t actually get called back.

I've used it with Verizon FIOS a few times and they schedule a call back time and call at the exactly minute they said they would.
I've never used it with anyone else.

I have used it a few times, I always get a call back. It's a pretty convenient feature for when I don't have much time to sit on hold.
Last fall my credit union merged with another credit union and it was a giant disaster. Debit cards didn't work, online banking wouldn't let you log in, you name it it went wrong. When I called to ask about my mortgage (which had vanished off my list of accounts) payment I was quoted a hold time of over four hours. Nope! So I used the call back feature and about 4 1/2 hours later they called me. After listening to other people's nightmares of that situation I was very glad that call back feature was available.

If i know there system is prioritized by the computer, then yes, I will do a callback. You just have to make sure you don't have the silence unknown caller feature turned on on your iphone. If it's just a message that says they'll call back within such and such time period, then no, I'll hold.

I am skeptical about the call back feature but have to admit that the 2-3 times I've used it, I'm pretty sure I got a call back.
Don't know why I'm still skeptical...

I will wait or call back later. Sometimes they do not callback and if they do I might not have the pertinent information readily available when they do. For 7 minutes I will wait.

I have a few times and gotten a call back. However, yesterday I did for a ski resort and they didn't call back after an hour. I called again and was on hold for less than 7 minutes. Should have waited the first time!

Well, since I never got a call back yesterday, I called again today. I stayed on hold since it was only going to be a 5 minute wait (so they said). The CS rep came on the line 37 minutes later. Gracious.

I pretty much always just put my phone on speaker and wait. I often make those kind of calls when I'm in the car, so it's on bluetooth anyway. For some reason I don't feel the wait so bad if I'm driving, or if I'm sitting in a parking lot playing a game on my phone while I'm waiting.

I usually try and hold for as long as I need to. I think I am a pretty patient person but, sometimes I feel like I am gonna go crazy. I did use the call back feature once with our health insurance and was pleasantly surprised that they actually did call back! I think that is the only time I have used it.
