I have always had an obsession with a certain restaurants chips and salsa where we used to live. Every time I go back for a visit (maybe once a year?) I bring home a HUGE container of both. I get your pain. LOL (I'm 4 hours away from it now)

I want Tex Mex food. It’s non-existent here and I’m craving it. There is a Mexican restaurant over by Waterloo, but I hear that it’s more authentic food. Plus, restaurants are still all closed here. I make my own, but it’s a lot of steps. I just want it all and I want it now!

I want a giant cupcake from the place down the street. I drive by it twice a day, and rarely stop. I can't stop, or it'll become habit. they're soooooo good.

I really want smoked salmon eggs Benedict with nice crispy potatoes on the side. We only do take out here, even though I think restaurants can be open at smaller capacity, but brunch food just doesn’t travel well.

There's a local place that makes the best pizza outside of Italy But...... I have gained 12 pounds in the last few months, so no pizza for me! I get your pain. Only I gained 27 lbs and was over by 10-15. I am down about 19, although my scale broke yesterday (HAHA), so about 22 more to go. Even just 10 would allow me to have a treat, but no treats until then. I hate being on a diet. My own fault. I had surprise gallbladder surgery in August and found out that I am not allergic to dairy. It was my dang gallbladder. I celebrated with icecream, pizza and hot chocolate. I knew NO BOUNDS. It is awful. I also want your pizza quite badly. I really want smoked salmon eggs Benedict with nice crispy potatoes on the side. I miss potatoes more than anything!! |

I want my grandma's roll up German pancakes. They are basically crepes, spread with tons of butter and gobs of granulated sugar. Then they are rolled up and sliced into spirals. I have been craving those since last October. The calories are through the roof so I haven't succumbed yet...but I really, really want them.

Seafood. Shrimp and grits, fried fish, seafood nachos, shrimp of any kind.
Luckily I'm going to my sister's, in Florida, tomorrow. I'm eating all the seafood!!

I want my mom's Chicken Crepes--I have the recipe, but its involved enough that I never feel like making it (even though I bought a crepe maker!) I think it has more to do with missing my Mom who I haven't seen since Xmas 2019.
I also want some foods that we get when traveling to Nebraska--Runza, Amigos, Valentino's, and now Schlotskys because I realized there is still a location in Omaha.

Since I just ate lunch, I’m not craving anything right now. I generally crave pie, cookies, or fresh baked bread. I sometimes give in to the craving, but I have learned that for me, it is just best not to have any of that stuff in the house. And if I eat it, I want more. It’s crazy how you crave stuff more and more after you give in. Sigh

I just drove over an hour to Trader Joes because I was craving dried mandarins. They were out! I had a list of other things I wanted there so the trip wasn't a complete bust, but man I wanted those mandarins!

It took everything I had to not go out of my way to buy a donut the other day. ETA: Especially hot Krispy Kreme donuts. I can seriously mainline a box of those. |

I decided to treat myself to an often-craved item as I was driving home from getting my first Covid shot. I didn't know how the immunization was going to affect me, so I decided I would pick up dinner instead of cooking just in case I felt really sick.
I went to The Hat drive-through and got a sandwich and some onion rings with an order of their BBQ sauce to dip them in. They have the best onion rings around and really the best BBQ sauce too. I rarely ever let myself get them, but I figure I deserved a treat today. And yes, I know that is a stupid excuse. I just really wanted them. And I only ate half the sandwich and about 1/3 of the rings because their orders are just too much food. So now I have leftovers for tomorrow's dinner.
