Yesterday. I took my son, DIL and DGD for Mexican food. Today I am taking DGD for cocoa at the bakery. We have been eating out in restaurants since they opened back up for indoor dining.

the last time I ate out in a restaurant was a few weeks ago... my DH and I went to a German restaurant to celebrate our anniversary of meeting (in February); also his birthday (from December); and also Valentine's Day. Since we go out so rarely any more, we made it do triple-duty, lol. Most restaurants here are open for dine-in, and have implemented social distancing rules-- less tables spaced farther apart, masks everywhere except when you're at your table, etc. We've eaten out several times over the past few 6 months or so, and we feel reasonably safe in doing it
(granted, we're not getting together with people outside our own household, so... if other people regularly go out to restaurants to 'get together with friends' then we're not doing that, at all.)
ETA: one thing we DO miss is brunch. Our thing for celebrating our anniversary was always a champagne Sunday brunch at a local resort- it was top-notch. Champagne and mimosas, made-to-order omelets, french toast, etc., grilled entrees like scallops, lamb chops, a charcuterie board, made-to-order crepes, a dessert tray brought to your table, etc. The resort stopped doing brunch, and I'm not sure they'll start it up again.

In a restaurant, over a year ago now. I’ve ordered pizza twice during the pandemic and picked up McDonald’s once for the kids. We don’t eat out very often so this isn’t a huge change for us anyway.

The last time I ate in a restaurant was February 2020. Hubby and I went out for breakfast at our local diner. It was something we would do on Saturday mornings.

this past Saturday, my DH and I stopped for lunch as we did our usual weekend curbside pickup errands.
Our county still has restrictions on how many people can be in restaurants and we have a select few places that we feel comfortable going into for meals. Our favorite is the Thai place where they take our temps before we are seated, place sanitized silverware into plastic packaging and sanitize their laminated menus after each use.

One time in October 2020. They were following strict guidelines and we were the only people in the restaurant. It was the middle of the afternoon. We do delivery and take out often though.
The last time we went out to eat without worrying about it, we went to the Eagles concert in Houston on March 7, 2020 and ate out before we went. DH still refers to it as "the last time we had fun". They suspended the tour the next day.

A group of my friends and I tried a new breakfast place on Saturday March 7th. Right before the very next week, our employers sent us home to work.

A year ago. We did eat out during the spring/summer/early fall, only if the restaurant had outdoor seating.
And on a bright note, I get my first vaccine today!

March 15, 2020. Things were already closing down and I had a dinner date with some friends. Restaurants have been opened since (they’re closed now) but, outside of grocery shopping, we don’t do ‘public’.

Over Labor Day, we took a short flight out to Nantucket and had lunch with DS and his boyfriend. They had all the floor to ceiling windows open, so DH felt safe. It was an awesome meal. After that, the numbers around here went up too high for us to take the risk.

Saturday evening... we celebrated our Anniversary. We ate at Bonefish Grill. All waiters, waitresses, hosts wore a mask. The restaurant was always busy pre-pandemic, it wasn’t busy at all.

I realized that I didn’t answer the question exactly — it was early last March, I think the day before my university announced it was going online “for two weeks” (we’re still online); my husband and I went for lunch at Super Six, and I remember having ribs with kimchi Mac-and-cheese and a Manhattan. I have gone back there since and sat at their outside tables, but like a lot of restaurants, they have limited their menu and the ribs have not been on it, and they are serving everything on disposable plates, even outside :/.

and they are serving everything on disposable plates, even outside :/. this reminds me... about a month ago we went to our local Bostons (a Canada-based place that specializes in pizza). They gave us ONE menu for both of us (becuase of Covid; my DH asked for another one so we could both look at it at the same time and they said No); the food was on real plates, but we got a pre-packaged bag that contained plastic utensils, one teeny packet of salt, pepper, and one paper napkin. And for that odd mix of 'same/different' service we still had to pay their regular menu prices. Can someone please explain to me why they decided they could wash plates effectively, but not silverware, and they apparently couldn't wipe off the (all-laminated) menus with disinfectant? Their mix of safety features just did NOT make sense.

Most of them don’t have salt and pepper shakers on the table is the only difference.

I know exactly when bc it was so good I had to take a photo. It was March 12,2000 at an amazing Korean place. I took my 17 yo to his dermatologist then we grabbed lunch. It was sooo good. I think everything shut down 3 days later.

I don’t remember the last time I ate in a restaurant. I know it was in 2019 before the Thanksgivings and Christmas holiday season. I’m wanting to say October maybe. The last time we had take out of any sort was in February of 2020.

Last night. We had pho. We were the only people in the restaurant. They did have lots of people picking up orders, so that made me happy as it's my favorite Vietnamese place and I'd be so sad if they closed.

Monday night.
With the first pause, it was right around this date a year ago. My niece was in town for a graduate program exam.
After the first pause ended, it was the end of June. We ate out, mostly outside, a few times during the summer.
By the end of September, the community spread was getting high, so I quit going out until after the second, fall pause.
We’ve gone out a handful of times since dining opened back up (not at full capacity)

Mine is lame. At the end of September had to sit at the emergency vet for 6+ hours. Not allowed inside, sitting in the parking lot. We ran to Wendy’s to use the restroom and wound up eating inside since there were only 2 people sitting inside. That is the only time since the pandemic started we have eaten in anywhere. We haven’t done any outdoor dining either. Have done takeout and delivery. I am so ready to have our weekly dinner date night again!

We actually went for our first "outing" a couple of weeks ago. We went to Red Lobster at a time when we knew it wouldn't be too busy. They have tables set way apart, everyone was in masks until seated, staff all masked up. Before that it had been at least a year... I think Valentine's 2020 was the last time. We have ordered and picked up once a week since the pandemic started just to help our local mom & pop places a little.

I was out of town for the last week of January 2020 and ate out every night. Looking back at Feb, DH was out of town for half the month and we had friends over the two weekends in was home. If only I'd known, we would have gone out. I cancelled at least 4 reservations in March when the stay home orders started. We have eaten at a restaurant on their patio 4-5 times and done take out at least once a month.

I went to PF Changs for lunch last Wednesday. I only stopped doing things like shopping and eating out when it was all shut down. As soon as things started opening up again - even at limited capacity - I've been there.

Friday my dd and I went for a fish fry. We got there at 4:00 when they opened, and there was only one other couple eating. I've been inside a restaurant about a half dozen times since the shut down, but do frequent curbside pickups to support local restaurants. In my area, most places never fully closed down, or only did for a few months.
I still don't grocery or retail shop much.

My DD went to a friend’s house for a small birthday party on the 13th last year, and we all went out to dinner with a friend on St. Patrick’s Day (which was a Tuesday). Not long after that, everything shut down. DH has gone out to lunch with an associate a few times recently but DD and I have eaten inside at a restaurant (Culver’s) just once and that was about two weeks ago.

And the funny thing is I can remember having drinks before the concert and talking about "this virus" and how worried should we be about it. Never could have imagined what was coming. Harry Connick, Jr and Mi Tierra sounds like a great night!
