We are selling our 16 yr. old car but cannot find the title anywhere. Is there any way to get a copy of it or are we screwed?

Check with your state's department of motor vehicle. You can get a replacement in our state.

I'm sure it varies by state, but most states have a process to replace lost titles. Check with your states DMV site.
If you had a loan on the vehicle, you might need to get a lien release letter from the financial institution that financed the loan. Your DMV should know if there is a lien on it.
