Apart from the fight, it's so odd to me to see people shopping for non essentials. The majority of our shops have been closed for what seems like forever. Bath and Body Works was classified as essential here and never closed. They sell soap and hand sanitizer. In the UK they would be shut, we are in our third lockdown (started in Jan) and they have expanded the list of shops that could be open from the first lockdown list and BBW would not make the cut if they were based here. I've not been in a shop in ages, online delivery is working fine for me! We are, just today, starting a very gradual reopening. School children are going back to school. It will be five weeks before the next change in the rules, they want to measure the effect of each change before opening further. It is going to be slow...very slow. Looking at the plan, it looks as if all retail will open on the 12th April but that does not include indoor hospitality (that will be allowed from the 17th May, if all the indicators are good) Hopefully, with the high number of people being vaccinated, we will find a new normal that is sustainable and safe.

I can't imagine *ever* engaging in a physical fight with anyone for any reason. But over B&BW products? No way, no how. I think they (probably the woman you can see/hear in the second video and the woman with the striped dress) started arguing because someone was standing too close in line. My guess is it was the woman with the stripes and her friends since the employees were already trying to get them out of the store when the fight started. Doesn’t make it an appropriate response, but perhaps better than fighting over both products themselves. Perhaps I was too specific in my response. Although, my first declarative sentence did state emphatically "for any reason." And no, the reason they fought was not better than fighting over bath products. I still find it distasteful.

I turn it around and say "Hmmmm, why would you like to know?" i saw an interview with rupaul on graham norton (LOVE graham norton) and one of his replies when someone asks him a question he doesn't want to answer is, with complete lack of emotion, "i don't see how that is any of your business". he said it stops them in their tracks. his other two are, "i'll be the judge of that" and "thanks for the warning". graham shared lucille ball's - when they returned from the loo at a dinner party she would lean over to another guest and say "tell it to her face". i also have never been in a physical fight. if i allowed MYSELF to come to blows at B&BW, i would drive straight to a psychiatrist's office since, clearly, i needed help with anger issues (not to say i wouldn't defend myself if someone started punching me). i have been at ONE B&BW in the last year when malls were still open and it wasn't that busy and i was able to get some hand cream and hand sanitizer. EVERY time i drive by an outdoor store, they are lined up around the back of the store. no thanks. i believe they were closed with our last lockdown - maybe reopening today as some retail is opening at 25% capacity i think.

We have been heading down the path of no frustration tolerance and entitlement for a while, way before the pandemic. The pandemic has just brought out the true colors of some and seems to give them a ticket to shed social boundaries.
If you think about it, some people are fighting, risking serious or lethal injury and potential devastating illness to be in line in a store that sells soaps and lotions. Really?

That was my MIL. We're in a small town were everybody knows everybody and wants to know everything. More than once if someone was chatting with her in the grocery store aisle and asked her a very personal question about her or her family she'd just look them in the eye and say "why do you want to know" or "why don't you ask him yourself if you want to know" and then would turn and walk away.

I perfected a similar answer while going through my separation and divorce. People would ask the most astoundingly nosy questions and my reply was, "I had no idea we were close enough friends for you to ask me a question like that."

there are no stores that are *closed* due to the pandemic here in AZ that I know of. They may have altered procedures (vet's office: you can't go inside with your pet, you have to wait in your car) or social distancing in place (marked off every other table in a restaurant, for example), and maybe some shortened hours of operation, but all stores are open as far as I know.
ETA: there was a period of time where restaurants were restricted to take-out or drive-thru only, but I don't EVER remember a time when certain stores were NOT open at ALL because what they sold was 'not' essential. I really don't think they did that here. Or if they did, it was very early on, and didn't last long.
eta2: there were restrictions on movie theaters, bounce house places for kids, restaurants with buffets, things like that-- they were closed for a period of time. But not normal 'stores' that sold any type of goods.

It was here in Scottsdale. Scottsdale PD said it was due to the ladies cutting in line and they say it had nothing to do with race or masks. The aggressors were wearing masks in the beginning so I believe that part, but according to some witnesses, the N word and “trailer park trash” were both flying around so I don’t believe that race wasn’t a factor.
I hate Scottsdale.
SPD said two women were arrested and charged with felony assault but they haven’t said which two. I hope we can assume it was the two customers and not the employees.
Someone said BBW posted on Twitter that the employees had been fired but I can’t find that. I hope they weren’t.

I was waiting for the woman wearing spandex shorts and a tube top to lose her top in the tussle. 🤣🤣 So was I. That was definitely a scene! And the BBW personnel were NOT wearing masks either!

Yes they were. Did you see the entire video? They all had masks on. Some may have lost them in the fight, but they all started masked.

Someone said BBW posted on Twitter that the employees had been fired but I can’t find that. I hope they weren’t. I'd bet my life they were. Most likely the two females and probably the male, and maybe even the third female who seemed like she was trying to break it up. Their home office is going to say they should never have touched the customers, and I won't be surprised if Stripes and Tube Top end up suing LL Brands.

Both my daughters work in retail, it's frankly disgusting the way people who work in retail are treated. From everything to making inappropriate comments ("I bet you have a child at home and aren't even in school"), mask issues and flat out racism, it's awful. Thankfully they have thicker skin than I do, they let it roll off their back for the most part.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if BBW did fire the employee who did the "take-down" on Stripey. If Stripey were to sue, the video probably would support her in an assault case. (I am not bashing the employee, but the corporate lawyers are probably doing everything they can to mitigate...).

...I can’t imagine going after a customer like that. Oh I can. F***ing A! My BFF works in retail, and this would be a dream come true for her, to be able to wrestle a rude and abusive customer to the floor! (Okay not really, but maybe just a little.)

Anyways, I just missed a huge fight at Costco on Saturday I guess.. my dd and I were walking to the checkout and a friend of mine happened to be working that day and just passed me.. we stopped to chat a minute and she was filling me in on the fight.. it was over masks, one wearing and one not.. the same story. She said it got really bad.

At the beginning of the video you can see what I believe is the customer throwing something. What a complete mess....
