I think I got a toe nail fungus on my big tow from my last pedicure. Around the time I should have gone back, I noticed my nail bumped up where the polish was significantly. I got the polish off and hoped it would grow out, but that doesn't seem to be happening.
I'll hit the Dr over spring break if necessary as that will be 2 weeks from my second shot and I don't want any interactions (I'm sure it is fine)
In the meantime have you successfully treated a toe nail at home?

Call a podiatrist...you've had one shot.Heck they might even see you over facetime or have you send a picture.

My doctor had me put Neosporin ointment under the edge of the toenail every night after bathing and making sure the area under the nail was dry. I also went a step further and used a dropper to put 99% alcohol under the nail. That kept it under control until the toenail finally grew out. It ended up being a combination of a fungus and nail damage. Growing out took about 10 months - the injury was originally near the cuticle.
You still want to have a doctor check it. If first line treatment doesn't work you may have to take an oral antibiotic.

Tea Tree Oil is known for helping with toe nail issues. Id use that while waiting to get seen.

my daughter did a teledoc appt from someone she found on the internet for this just a couple weeks ago. she sent a pic and they called in a prescription in about an hour.
i would go straight for the pills. i have one that i have been treating with lotions and potions for 6 or so years and it can get better but it never goes away.

Tea Tree Oil is known for helping with toe nail issues. Id use that while waiting to get seen. I had a couple of friends plus my mom and sister who tried pure Tea Tree oil on their toenails and lost their nail completely. My dermatologist told me not to use pure Tea Tree oil on nails because it causes more problems than it solves. I've heard others have had luck - maybe they used a more diluted or mixed version? Proceed with caution. Another vote for the Meticulous Manicurist!

Forget the home remedies and see the doctor. I’ve had this happen a couple of times over the years and the oral anti fungal drugs really do work. You have to give them time, though.

I would go the pill route as soon as possible. They work, but they are hard on the liver, so the sooner you address it, the better.

I have had a problem toenail for several years now. I've tried every home remedy and OTC product known to man (consistency is my problem, I am good for the first week of applying something 2x a day and then I just kinda forget). It's finally gotten to the point that the new growth is normal, but I'm still working on getting rid of the old damaged nail. I haven't worn toenail polish in about 4 years because I think that is what caused the issue in the first place (end of the season polish that I lazily left on all winter).

I think I got a toe nail fungus on my big tow from my last pedicure I have had one manicure about 32 years ago, and I have never had a pedicure. About the time I almost talk myself into one, I read this. Nope. Nope. Nope. Hope you can get it taken care of quickly!
