Anyone else participating in their virtual event next weekend?
It will be my first. Since all my crafty retreats with friends have been cancelled for the last year, I thought it might be a good alternative.

I want to buy it always seems to sell out long before I ever hear about it. I’m doing a mixed media virtual retreat the same weekend instead. Hope you enjoy it!

I didn't sign up for this one as I'm not a card maker other than Christmas and the random birthday card. I did the scrapbooking one last November and I'm signed up to do Create & Inspire in June. My BFF is signed up for the card one (she's not on this board) and she was at the November one, too. It was a great time and I thought it was very well put together for a weekend online event. It's definitely something where you get out what you put in, as far as interaction/participation. Have fun!!!

AZCrafty...they do provide alternatives for FB users, but I imagine the experience would be somewhat different, there is a lot of chatter leading up to the even on Facebook. However, the classes will be on YouTube and they have specifically said they will email those links to folks who are not on YouTube.
I know they said it sold out, but they were still pulling some folks from the waitlist last week. I am going to do the Scrapbooking one in April and it was sold out, but I was pulled from the waitlist.

I am! I did the scrapbooking in November, which I really liked and got a lot out of. The events are just so well organized. I chose to do the card one so that my Mom can do it too, bcz she is only a cardmaker. I gifted it to her for Christmas. We usually go to crops together and haven't done any physical events in over a year. So looking forward to finally having this time with her!
I do not get as into the hype and opened my box because last time I wished I had opened it sooner so I could prep more. I still haven't prepped much yet!
I didn't have FB either, but created a fakebook just to participate in this. I only go on it for the event and don't post much. As soon as it's over I plan on deleting account!

I am and I’m very excited. It all looks awesome. Love the instructors. I’ve signed up for tons of jenn Shurkus’s classes with the pandemic too. Plus this month is crazy (though I’m not doing a lot of them live) I signed up for crop and create, creative crate I did last week with firefly farms and that was fun, crop on the cape is next weekend but I won’t do it live, and stamp joy from Taylored expressions which is the last week of the month and I won’t do it live. And I’m also doing another of jenn Shurkus’s classes for lawn Fawn stuff the last week of the month.
I love learning techniques and I’ve loved all these virtual options I can do live or at a later time.

I did not open my box early...I’ve started the prep and hope to finish it up this weekend.
I did open up one of the Tri-Blend markers. I think the idea is great, but it felt very awkward in my hand. I’ll probably use my Copics instead...just need to figure out the colors.

cmpeter Thank you for creating this post. My friends did the November event and raved about it. scrapcat , @doxiemom and scrappinheather I am also signed up for the Card event. I waited to open my box (which was easy as my box was one of the last 21 delivered and arrived Monday) and plan to spend the weekend doing the prep. My name on FB is Tracy Cannon, we should connect! I am extremely thankful to participate this next weekend with three of my crafty friends, and we will get to be together in person! I am also signed up for the April event. And yes, to repeat what was posted earlier, they were pulling people off the wait list last week, so if tempted sign up on the waitlist.

Is there an event in June? Crop & Inspire? The date on the website says 2021, but I thought it was over.
Good to know about the waitlist. Thanks for sharing.
Honestly I hope these virtual events don’t disappear once the pandemic is over. I can’t say if they are better or worse for the hosts but as a customer I’m loving the option and convenience. I’m doing The Juicy Soul virtual mixed media retreat this month and I’m super excited.

June is the virtual Crop & Inspire - it was postponed originally from May 2020 (in-person), to another date (in-person), and then finally decided to hold it virtually this June. I am enrolled and got in from the waitlist. I am so excited for this one!

Yes I signed up. Loved the unboxing event and I had not opened mine! I set-up a Fakebook account last year just for these types of virtual events. Not every organizer has offered YouTube as an alternative. I hope virtual events continue because I've "attended" many that I just would not be able to attend in person.

Count me in too. It's my first event with them and I'm already extremely impressed by the materials provided, the organization and customer service, the instructors, and the whole set-up. I'm already convinced it's well worth the money. I'll be signing up for more when they come out with the fall virtual events.

Geeze...day one done and I am EXHAUSTED. Partly because us West Coasters had to start at 6:45 am. Gina K’s class was definitely my favorite. I completed everything but the Honeybee make-n-take.
How did everyone else do?

I am also exhausted. I finished all the class cards but none of the extra ones. I liked using the stencils with Gina K. I like my finished cards from Lawn Fawn, but felt rushed during class. Overall I’m happy with all the classes. I shared my cards over in the crop thread.

I am also exhausted, but really enjoyed it. It started really early for those of us on the West Coast. I ended up doing the first classes of the day later in the day. I eventually got every class done except the Hero Arts class.

I was really impressed too! Got all classes done but hero arts as well. I think my favorite was Gina k. Love the whole set and her cards. Because the classes were so quick, I found I enjoyed it much more watching them in replay vs. live. I was able to pause when needed. It felt less stressful. I’m a fast crafter but most of them done live were too fast for me. But I found the products, education and fun well worth it.
I did think the close to my heart set was too hard to line up when crafting live. I should have done that one not live. But all in all loved everything.

Yes! It was such a pain to line up those dies with the flowers.

It was def a little exhausting! I did most of the class cards, but left out a few I didn't care for as much. I really liked the Gina K cards and the Hero Arts hummingbird cards. Some classes I stamped multiples and made more of what I liked. I also like the Pinkfresh stencils from Sunday lunch and just practiced on a large paper then cut out a bunch of pieces to use later. The only C&C related purchase I made was Angie Blom's digital design, just love it. I printed some out, have to practice to see how it works on printer ink. I am really pleased with the quality and amount of product, that it is new and versatile. It was fun & glad I got a few more cards in my stash.

justjac was it worth almost $300 CAD? That seems like a lot for 6 classes ($50 each) but depends on how much product you got with it. It sounds like most of the classes were good though and enjoyed.

This sounds like fun , I will have to keep my eyes out for the next one. Can anyone share some pictures of the products you got and cards? I don’t know how to upload photos and I’m not going to remember everything but here is some of the stuff: 1. All of the classes which were awesome and tons of great techniques with the teachers; 2. Brand new not yet released Gina k layering stencils, dies, and coordinating stamp set plus 2 Gina k blending brushes; 3. Lawn Fawn coaster critter stamp set, dies, and the coaster slider; 4. Hero arts layering bird stamp set, dies go go with it and reactive ink; 5. Close to my heart stamp and die set plus a full size ink cube; 6. Photo play stamp and die; 7. Exclusive rainbow stamp and die set from scrapbook and cards mag 8. Exclusive stamp snd die set from another manufacturer spacing on the name 9. 4 spectrum noir triblend markers; 10. Pinkfresh layering stencil; 11. Foil, sets of the foil cards (the ones you add foil and put through a laminator); 12. All the paper, card bases, and watercolor paper needed; 13. 2 different sets of 6x6 paper pads 14. A fulll bound notebook with all the cards and written instructions abd pictures of all the cards; 15. Popcorn from a fancy place in Canada; 16. Foam squares 17. A stamp block 18.
