I am old, old have fine thin hair, a high forehead and bangs. The only thing I dither about is fringe, piecey or side swept. I have the unfortunate habit of taking the scissors to them before my next haircut. Drives my hairstylist crazy.

Of course. If you feel comfortable with them and think they look good on you, then do what you like! I have a super high forehead and a ton of cowlicks, so i have to have bangs!

One of the benefits of being over fifty is that you can do whatever tf you want.

I’m 55 and have had bangs since 8th grade. I can’t imagine not having bangs.

Of course they can! I've always had a fringe (now shortish side swept) and find as I age my "look" is younger than many of my friends who persist with long hair and no fringe. Wear what suits you.

There’s a pretty common hairstyle among aging celebrity women. Think Goldie Hawn. But, really, most of them. Face framing layers with bangs. IT hides forehead wrinkles, receding, facelift giveaways. THis look wouldn’t be so popular if it didn’t work.

I haven't had bangs in years but I'm always toying with the idea. I don't have a high forehead but I plan on getting bangs when my forehead wrinkles get worse. I love cmpeter's bangs. I could see myself asking my hairdresser for something like that. So, yes, you can have bangs over 50. Look through Pinterest for something modern and go for it.

I've had bangs for years. I have grown them out several times and had them cut again. My face looks better with them. I think bangs make you look younger in some cases too. I often am told I look younger than I am. I credit the bangs.

I think the shape of your face, not your age, determines whether bangs look good on you.

I don't think this is an age thing. I have a very round, chubby face. I will never wear bangs. My face just doesn't work with it. However some faces almost seem to need them. And I'd rather do what's most flattering for my face than worry about an age limit. Do what makes you feel good.

I've had bangs since the day I was born. I'm nearing 60 and I have no plans to change that. I don't even know if I could.

Why would you ask that? Do what you want with your hair! It only matters what you want to do. Most people I know with bangs are over 50. I don't seem many under 30 with bangs, except Taylor Swift! I hated the no bangs look when it came back in style several years ago. Now I am used to it and not a fan of bangs anymore. But some people look great with/without bangs, so do what you like.

I had no idea that anyone thought a fringe was age specific
