I have anyways had a high forehead and wore bangs (fringe) into my 30s. I have a curly bob but would style my bangs smooth with a round brush. Gradually I grew them out and had a side swept bang going on until about 5 years ago. Now I have no bangs and my hair has been thinning leaving me with a big ol’ shiny forehead. I often wear my reading glasses or sunglasses on top of my head which pulls my hair back and makes it even more obvious. This is not a good look.
I feel I need to go back to full bangs to cover up this forehead situation. Will this look weird on an older lady? Part of me says who cares, but I don’t want to look even more gross than I do already.
Do you wear bangs?

I just turned 59 and have bangs. I have way too much forehead to not have them.

I'm 74 and have worn bangs my whole life. I, too, have a high forehead.

I’m 63 with bangs. Age has nothing to do with bang v no bangs. If you like bangs then have them.

Why would there be an "age" to any hairstyle? I think that's a made-up thing.

Bangs are ageless. Sounds like you have the perfect face/forehead for them. Checkout Pinterest and/or the Makeover Guy on YouTube for lots of great hairstyles with bangs.

I'm 56 and I've had bangs my whole life. I have a high high forehead. I don't even know what I would like look without bangs. I think you do what fits your face the best! Why wouldn't women over 50 not have bangs?!

Do a google search hair over 50 with bangs. You will find a lot of nice looking hairstyles with bangs. Yes you can wear bangs.

I went back to bangs in my 50s because of thinning hair.

If you like them and it suits you then it works regardless of age. That goes for any hairstyle or fashion style.

My pixie cut assumes bangs, but I’ve had them longer or shorter depending on my mood. I’m 48 if that helps. IMO shorter pieces of hair and more layers definitely help with thinning.

What a strange question. I've had a fringe my whole life (I have a high forehead I look awful without a fringe). I'm not going to suddenly grow out my fringe just because I turned 50.

Actually bangs are an older woman’s best friend. They cover forehead wrinkles and balance our faces as they tend to get longer with age. (Thank you, gravity). The best way for most women to wear them is slightly sideswept and soft, as this also minimizes the nose - which also becomes prominent with age. So get your fringe on!

It better be okay, as cutting fringe is top of my list once I get in to get my haircut again.

There is no age limit for bangs that look great. Go for it.

I have bangs and I'm a lot older than 50! If you like the way you look with them, then by all means, go for it.

Yes! I will be 56 in June, and I wear "piecey" bangs.

I think bangs are more common among older women than younger. They can look stylish, or not, depending on the length, cut and how you style them.

I got rid of my bangs about 10 years ago and have been unhappy ever since. I just chopped off my hair and made bangs in the middle of the pandemic and I get compliments all the time. My hairdresser will be sick when she eventually sees me again!

I’m way over 50 and have bangs. I grew them out once years ago, but hated the look. So back to bangs for me, for the rest of time, I guess.
I give you permission to wear bangs!

I always had bangs as a kid. There was probably a decade or so in my 20’s when I had grown out my hair so it would all be held back in a ponytail and out of my face. But when my hair started thinning in my mid 30’s I went straight back to bangs and haven’t looked back. These days my hair looks terrible when it’s all pulled back and it’s way more noticeable that it’s thinner on top.

I’m 53...and wear a side part with sideswept bangs - I don’t like a straight bang on me but you can wear whatever type you like. . I think the last time I didn’t have bangs was grade 3 😉

Yup, I'm over 50 and have worn fringy bangs most of my life. I also have a high forehead and a cowlick, so I have a side part as well, LOL!
