OMG, really?!? I'm embarrassed to say I live in AZ, although thankfully Paul Gosar is not my representative. I would send him an email, but it says he only values feedback from 'his constituents' and I am not one of them. (According to Wikipedia, his district (north / northwest rural AZ) is one of the most Republican districts in the West.) blech. eta: or to say it in one word... well, okay, two choices. Take your pick. 1) NAZI. or 2) EVIL.

It’s not “nativist rhetoric.” White people aren’t native here!

It’s not “nativist rhetoric.” White people aren’t native here! WTH? I keep typing responses and I’ve got nothing polite to respond with. Except another WTH?

I made the mistake of actually reading the platform - damn they're beyond wackadoodles. And this little snippet from the section on immigration: Is particularly head scratching from the dude from Arizona. Does he have the slightest idea how Arizona became part of the US? I guess we should undo the treat of Guadalupe Hildago - although we didn't "import" those foreign citizens, just moved the border and suddenly all those Mexicans were in America. Another threat!! In secret Facebook groups, America's best warriors share racist jabs, lies about 2020, even QAnon theoriesNBC News reviewed posts from four private, secret Facebook groups that describe themselves as solely for current and former special operations forces. A U.S. special forces soldier watches Syrian Kurdish soldiers dismantle a fortification in the so-called \"safe zone\" on the border with Turkey near Tal Abyad, Syria on Sept. 6, 2019. WASHINGTON — They're the most elite, lethally trained members of the U.S. military, widely considered the best of the best. And yet in secret Facebook groups exclusively for special operations forces that were accessed by NBC News, they share misinformation about a "stolen" 2020 election, disparaging and racist comments about America's political leadership and even QAnon conspiracy theories. Among the hundreds of Facebook posts NBC News reviewed from forums for current and former Rangers, Green Berets and other elite warriors: a member of a special forces group lamenting that several aides to former Vice President Mike Pence were part of a "Concerted effort by the thieves and pedophiles walking the hallowed halls of the peoples government" to undermine former President Donald Trump. "In a just world, they would have already been taken out behind the court house and shot," another member commented. In yet another post, a member of one of the groups responded to criticism of the Black Lives Matter movement with an image of a noose and the message "IF WE WANT TO MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN WE WILL HAVE TO MAKE EVIL PEOPLE FEAR PUNISHMENT AGAIN.""The story of radicalization in special operations is a story that needs to be told," said Jack Murphy, a former Army Ranger and Green Beret who has written extensively about the special operations forces community. "It has shocked and horrified me to see what's happened to these guys in the last five or six years."Extremism in the military has been in the spotlight since more than two dozen current and former service members were linked to the storming of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6. But the private Facebook groups reveal an underbelly of a segment of the military that has long been revered as America's front line of defense. ** The FBI is investigating active-duty troops and reservists as part of its investigation into the riot. There is growing concern that the problem is more pervasive than it appears among those currently serving. "I am concerned about active duty," Wilson said. "I don't think special operations forces just develop these ideas in their head when they get out and are in their late 40s. So I think it starts in the military and probably gets worse when they're out."* LONG read............ scary too! www.nbcnews.com/news/military/secret-facebook-groups-america-s-best-warriors-share-racist-jabs-n1263985

White people are the original immigrants! We invaded this land!! GOP leadership scrambles after 'nativist dog whistles' from the new 'White Nationalism Caucus'Bob Brigham April 16, 2021 Republican leadership engaged in damage control on Friday after some of the most extreme members of the House of Representatives formed a new caucus to support Angelo-Saxon heritage. The caucus -- which has the support of Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Matt Gaetz (R-FL) -- has been panned as a "White Nationalism Caucus." GOP leadership scrambled to claim that the party once led by Donald Trump is not racist. "America is built on the idea that we are all created equal and success is earned through honest, hard work. It isn't built on identity, race, or religion. The Republican Party is the party of Lincoln & the party of more opportunity for all Americans—not nativist dog whistles," House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) tweeted. House Republican Conference Chair Liz Cheney (R-WY) also attempted to clean up the mess. "Republicans believe in equal opportunity, freedom, and justice for all. We teach our children the values of tolerance, decency and moral courage. Racism, nativism, and anti-Semitism are evil. History teaches we all have an obligation to confront & reject such malicious hate," Cheney urged.👍 ** www.rawstory.com/republican-racism-2652612748/

It's like we talk about the colonies and forget all the other pieces of the country. My ancestors have been here well before Columbus dreamed about the ocean blue.

Kinzinger: Republicans who join 'America First' caucus should be stripped of committeesBY TAL AXELROD - 04/16/21 07:44 PM EDT Rep. Adam Kinzinger (Ill.) blasted fellow GOP lawmakers who plan to join the "America First Caucus," saying anyone who becomes a member should lose their committee assignments. Kinzinger, a vocal critic of former President Trump, tore into the caucus after it was reported that GOP Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (Ga.) and Paul Gosar (Ariz.) would lead formation of the group. The caucus calls for promoting "Anglo-Saxon political traditions,” and several House Republicans came out Friday to criticize the group and its policy platform. “I believe anyone that joins this caucus should have their committees stripped, and the Republican conference should expel them from conference participation," Kinzinger tweeted. "While we can’t prevent someone from calling themselves Republican, we can loudly say they don’t belong to us,” he added. ** thehill.com/homenews/house/548788-kinzinger-republicans-who-join-america-first-caucus-should-be-stripped-of

I swear I thought this had to be a parody at first. I’ve had that thought frequently lately. You see one really wacko thing online and your looking if it’s the Onion or Borowitz and then you see it’s straight up news. I keep waiting for the punk’d theme to play but I guess I really should be waiting for the Twighlight Zone music. It’s been a dark episode for a long time now.

Writing on Twitter, Cruz bashed Senate Democrats for holding hearings on the history of racist laws passed in the Southern United States intended to discriminate against Black Americans. "Impressive candor for Senate Dems to hold a hearing on the history of Jim Crow laws," Cruz wrote. "Bull Connor, Nathan Bedford Forrest (founder of KKK), George Wallace, Robert Byrd -- ALL Democrats. Dems wrote Jim Crow. Sadly, they've got a lot of expertise in bigotry and discrimination." While Cruz is correct that Southern Democrats were responsible for writing Jim Crow laws, he neglects to mention that it was the Republicans who capitalized on the Southern backlash against the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s by pursuing the so-called "Southern Strategy" that successfully turned the South from a Democratic stronghold into a solidly Republican region. ** www.rawstory.com/ted-cruz-racism/

She was one of the organizers for the 'stop the steal' rally at the Ellipse Jan 6th!! But according to Amy Kremer, the co-founder of Women for Trump and the director of the far-right Women for America First, the verdict will not change things, and residents of Minneapolis are still "going to riot regardless" — because they have a "free ticket for a shopping spree." Kremer's comments triggered immediate outrage, with many commenters noting that she clearly meant to imply that Black residents of the city are violent thieves looking for an excuse to steal and loot — and others noting that she had no such words for the people motivated by her "Stop the Steal" rhetoric to violently invade the U.S. Capitol. www.rawstory.com/racist-women-for-trump-group/
