I started watching the show after my first surgery a couple of weeks ago. I finished it today.
I'm not ready for it to be over! I loved David and Patrick... and Moira and Johnny. Alexis. Stevie. Everyone! I wish they would've made more episodes.
Does anyone know what Dan Levy is doing now? Or what he did before? I'd like to watch more of him.
Any series recommendations? I'll still be down and out for a couple of weeks, I need something new to watch.

I'm like you and just recently watched it, and feel the same way. I loved David and Patrick's love..and Alexis and her story too. I think its rare to cast all the roles as perfectly as this show was. The Office is another that comes to mind.
I haven't ound a replacement for this show. I started Arrested Development because someone told me it was similar and it is not to me. Not nearly as endearing characters. I gave up already without even finishing the first season.

He was in a movie that came out during the holidays...Can't remember if it was a netflix or hulu production. Ahh, Happiest Season. Sadly, you don't get enough of Daniel in there. I do love him!! I follow him on IG just to see some of his fashion. AND in case you didn't know, a lot of what he wore on the show was his personal wardrobe.

I am sure Dan Levy is cooking up something.
You might watch the movie Best of Show or Waiting for Guffman--both comic genius movies from Dan Levy.

I just got my DH started watching it. I tell him it's because I think he will like it, but really it's just because I want to watch it again for the third time! ETA: And I already told him that "I have asked you THRICE" is now in our daily family sayings.

AR is hilarious to me, but not charming or sweet or feel good. Have you watched Parks and Rec? It is more similar to the Office, but I think it has a lot of the charm and sweetness of Schitt’s Creek. And OP since you asked for suggestions I cannot recommend Psych enough. Another charming, funny, quirky show and one that I can watch over and over and over again.

I highly recommend watching the documentary of the making of Schitt's Creek on Netflix. I cried several times.

Love Schitt's Creek!
If you're looking for sitcoms, we've recently enjoyed Superstore on Hulu. That one surprised me as it was better than I expected. Silly fun for the most part.

Dan has said in several interviews that if there is more to tell regarding Schitt's Creek...he will do it.

The original motel is just outside of Toronto, Goodwood and I have driven through this town several times. This is a CBC Original show. Several of the main actors are also Canadian.

I believe Dan Levy has a deal with Disney to develop new content but other than the HULU holiday movie and the M&M commercials, I haven’t seen him do anything else. I’d love to see more of him.
The closest I’ve see to a quirky show with heart lately is Ted Lasso. There’s one season available on Apple TV. It’s not in SC’s league but I think it has potential to get close.

Years ago Dan was a co-host of a reality TV after-show. I remember them rehashing The Hills and Laguna Beach. I’ve been a fan of his dad (and Catherine I’Hara, John Candy and others) for many years, when he was part of SCTV. They were so good! The cast of Schitt’s are definitely Canadian royalty. 😄

Silly fun for the most part. we liked that show and thought the series finale was one of the best ones we've seen. i'm really going to miss that show. funny story: i ran into the actress that plays Sandra at a local Hawaiian Bakery. love her. I was standing behind her in line. i looked at her and said "are you who i think you are?" she said "i don't know, who do you think i am?" I then started telling how how DH and I loved that show and hope that she and Jerry get married (that was the plot line at the time). she laughed and said "oh, we will". then we took a selfie and that was that.

I apologize for confusing Dan and Eugene Levy.
My eyes were seeing Dan and my mind was registering Eugene. (duh)
I think this is "like father, like son" as Dan seems to have inherited his father's comic genius.

I've watched the series twice, and am thinking of watching a third time. Surprised at how much more I "saw" the second time. It is genius. Nothing I've seen so far can compare.
