I am a stamper. I have always known that my Copic markers tended to smear with some inks, so I colored very carefully and knew that sometimes smeared ink was part of the process. I assumed that archival ink would be different.
I started coloring with Copics using images stamped with Ranger Archival ink this morning, and the ink is definitely smearing with the Copics. I was pretty unhappy about it.
Is there any stamp ink that works well with Copics?

I was always told only memento ink for copics, so I've never tried anything else.

I also use Memento ink because that is what I was told when I started.

The Brilliance inks work as well but they need extensive drying or heat-setting before colouring.

Another vote for Memento. When I took a Copic coloring class they said that was pretty much the only ink that wouldn't smear with copics.

That is very upsetting! I just ordered some Ranger Archival Black ink from Stampers A because it says it is for use with alcohol inks. Archival Inks provide lasting stamping results because they’re acid free, permanent, and waterproof. Get a crisp image that doesn't bleed when used with water-based inks and markers, acrylic paint, water colors, Alcohol Ink, or Perfect Pearls. It said "doesn't bleed" and mentioned alchol ink so I thought I was ok. Grrrrr....

Thank you. Somehow I thought they had smeared the Momento ink, too, but it’s been awhile since I tried, so I may be remembering wrong.
I’ll get out my Momento inkpads.

Another one who usually uses Memento Tuxedo Black with copics. I have also bought Gina K's amalgam ink to try as it says it works with alcohol markers but haven't tried it yet.

I don't have Copics, but the Hero Hues black dye ink from Hero Arts didn't smear when I used my off-brand alcohol markers.

I use Gina K amalgam ink and haven’t had a smearing issue. Lawn Fawn says their Jet Black is Copic friendly, but I’ve had that one smear.
I haven’t tried any other inks.

I use Memento and Palette inks with no problems. I've also used VersaFine ink, but I had a little smearing with the yellows. It wasn't much, and it wasn't very noticeable.

I stamped and colored a flower with Ranger Archival Ink (Jet Black) and with Memento Tuxedo Black and the Archival ink definitely smeared when colored with Copics as opposed to the Memento ink. I'm so bummed!!

Me, too. I've never had a smearing problem with it.
