I didn't see it posted here when I did a search just now so I thought I'd post (forgive me if this is a repeat post as my searching abilities aren't the greatest.) Diana Gabaldon's new Outlander book Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone will be released on November 23. I just pre-ordered my copy on Amazon. Nothing like buying the book 7 months in advance but I've been impatiently waiting for this book for several years and I want to have it in my hot little hands the day it's released!

I’ll pre-order once it becomes available on Amazon. I’m currently rereading ABOSAA, that’s as far as I’ve gone in the series so I doubt I’ll have caught up by then, but happy to add another to my collection.

I love the timing of this… I am currently listening to the Outlander Podcast (Ginger & Summer), recapping season 4 of the show — which I just re-watched last week. I have not read the books, so when I am missing it, I just rewatch the show, LOL. One of these days I will read the books...!

I was excited to see that and she posted she is planning a book (11?!) and a book about Jamie’s parents.

There will be a book 10 that concludes Jamie and Claire’s story. And she’s also writing a book about Jamie’s parents. There’s also rumors of Master Raymond’s story. Let’s hope that Book 10 comes out much sooner than the 7 years between MOBY and Bees.

Thank you, I just preordered it, have been looking forward to this for a long time! I am late to the game with this series so I’ve never had to wait for a release before and it has been so.long. I will plan a day in a freshly made bed/on the couch, wearing my favorite comfy clothes and with all my favorite foods at my fingertips. Putting the date in my calendar now I’ll pre-order once it becomes available on Amazon. Did I misremember or did that change?

The release date, historically, has been moved back at least 2 times. So, I am not holding my breath for a November release date. Though, I think I pre-ordered a year or so ago.

Since book 6, I have hoped neither Diana or I die before she finishes the series.

Well I just realized that the release date in scheduled during the same weekend as DH’s next Ironman race. So now I do hope it is moved back! Or forward. Just moved. It wouldn’t do for me to be reading while he races by me

If you follow Diana Gabaldon on Facebook she posts updates as she writes. She announced when she had finished writing the book. And she has a really interesting explanation of how the books goes from her final written book to the publication date.
For any peas who do not want to go onto Facebook here is Diana's March 29 post
Any pre-orders for the past two years are just book sellers trying to get you to commit to buying the book from them by letting you pre-order. They know the book is coming, they were speculating on a release date but now the publisher has an actual release date. There is nothing wrong with the early pre-orders. I am sure that helps small book stores out a lot.

Awww, katlaw thx for quoting that, it reminds me of a million years ago when I used to go to some writers’ site to read DG’s comments and answers to questions and excerpts from coming work. I stopped doing that after Fiery Cross, because it felt like half the book felt familiar when I got to read it. But we were all so hungry for more Jamie and Claire, and used to say we’d gladly read DG’s grocery lists!

She had announced that it would be done by Christmas of 2019 and then it kept getting pushed back. I’d like to think it’s because she was plotting out the series and figuring out how she was going to finish the story in only 2 more books (now one more book). But the author also says that she doesn’t write with an outline, but writes scenes and then connects them all together. I guess only time will tell!

She was already behind and that put her even farther behind. I also wonder if the time commitment to the TV series added to the long time writing this one. I am looking forward to catching up with Jamie and Claire and their family in book 9.

Gosh I didn't realize it had been 7 years since the last in this series.
I wonder if the Audible version will be available when the written book is. Is Porter recording it right now?

Diana posted a while ago that Davina Porter was recording this book too. DP actually had the first part of the book a while ago so that she could work on the voices and characterization. In the US, they should release on the same day.

My mother is thrilled. She lives eats and breathes Outlander. I am also a fan, but I think I stopped re-reading the series after A Breath of Snow and Ashes. I bought Echo in the Bone but never read it.
I love a good re-read, and did it every time a book released, but for some reason re-reading this series stopped being fun when it was clear it was no longer the two trilogies planned (Scottish and American). I just don't want to re-read the entire series every time a new book comes out. So I'll re-read it when #10 gets a publication date.
After Harry Potter and Outlander, I swore I woudn't start unfinished series anymore. I've been good about that (except mysteries. I think of those differently, as each book is finished, even if the characters continue to new books).

In the podcast and in a post above, I see reference to MOBY. Is this a book in the series? I wondered the same thing so I looked it up. Written in My Own Heart's Blood was abbreviated as MOHB which after a while morphed into MOBY. People pronounced the acronym MOHB as Moe-B which turned into MOBY.

I am pretty sure the last one I read was A Breath of Snow and Ashes. It was hard for me to get through, maybe I was just burnt out at that point because I'd only just found the series and read them all back to back. I think I will wait for Jamie and Claire's last book and then dive back in since I know there will be an ending.
