My husband just found out he has to make an last minute trip for work tomorrow. He will be flying across country to AZ. He received his 2nd dose of Pfizer on April 1st, so he is fully vaccinated. He will be well stocked with masks for the plane (he will double mask), hand sanitizer (if it's even allowed on a plane) and wet ones hand wipes and clorox wipes (if they are allowed).
Is there anything else that any of you who have traveled on a plane can recommend?
Are hand sanitizers/wipes/clorox wipes even allowed to be taken on a plane?
Any recommendations are appreciated! He wasn't expecting to have to fly any time soon, so he is a little worried. I checked the CDC recommendations for travelers, and it sounds like it's fine for fully vaccinated people (but must wear a mask). It also sounds like he does not have to test, or quarantine before or after the trip.

He’ll be fine. Sanitizer, wipes, clorox wipes are allowed. You can even take more than 3oz of sanitizer but according to the website it may be subject to extra screening (I didn’t take more so can’t speak to what that means). I’d recommend flying delta if possible, they’re still blocking middle seats till the end of the month.

I think he just wasnt' expecting a trip so soon. I don't think he had a choice for airlines as not sure if there are a lot of delta flights where we live, and it's an emergency trip, so he has to take what is available. But that's good to know if any future travel comes up. He would prefer to fly Delta if they are leaving the middle seat open.

We found a bunch of sanitizer in the airports at different areas.

The last few times I have flown American, they hand you a sanitized wipe when you board.

does he wear glasses? I'd probably wear a face shield if I didn't wear glasses.

United gives a sanitizing wipe to all passengers when they board- southwest does not. Most airlines are NOT keeping middle seats open anymore and flights are pretty darn full. If he'd like a less full flight, book the early morning ones. My last 6:30 am flight had 10 people on board, the 5 PM return flight had every single seat filled.

Pre-pandemic I always flew with wipes and sanitizer. I would wipe everything down. It’s gross how dirty the wipes were. I also carried a small bottle of Lysol spray and more wipes for my hotel room.

We just flew this past Saturday and are flying back out in two days. You can absolutely takes wipes and sanitizer. Some airlines are giving out wipes at boarding. Everyone has to mask up in the airport and on the plane, unless they are eating and drinking. Not every airline is enforcing the mask when people take them off to eat/drink. Also most airlines no longer have middle seats open.
But since he is fully vaccinated, he should be fine. Mask up, wipe down, and wash up.

Southwest is serving their snack mix and a limited selection of NA drinks. United is doing a snack pack kind of thing with a hand sanitizer wipe (flights over 2.5 hours) and NA drinks as well. I am sure other airlines have similar policies.

At least delta did this week. Everyone got goldfish, biscotti and bottled water. First class (we got upgrade 😀) got got a snack box and full service drinks.

Now that you say that, I think he probably always did that too. I completely forgot, but he is very good about that kind of thing.

I flew for the first time since last February this week. I was on American - Delta is my usual choice, but it was over twice the price, but that makes sense if they are keeping the middle seat open (1/3+ less capacity = higher prices).
Only one of my 4 legs handed me a wipe while boarding. I had a small hand sanitizer that I carried through security (I just threw it in the security bin - it was my only liquid).
While they are not doing food or drink service on board, plenty of people brought food and/or drink - they were even suggesting buying what you want in the terminal about 15 minutes before boarding began. They clearly announced that you could only remove the mask while you were actively eating/drinking.
The flights were all oversold, just like pre-covid, but I never felt at risk. I am vaccinated, everyone was wearing masks, and I never felt crowded. I even noted that it was nice that people weren't crowding around the boarding area and luggage carousel AS MUCH as they used to. I only saw one person who wasn't wearing their mask properly, and that was in the luggage area after I got home. They made mask announcements over and over and over.

Thanks for all the help, but now he isn't going. I told my daughter earlier that it wouldn't surprise me if he got out of it. And he did. It would have been a very exhausting trip and the job they were doing. But I was planning to get so much done this weekend! Haha!
