I just wanted to remind everyone with high school seniors to make sure they send their enrollment deposit to the university by the deadline (if it is required). Also make sure you fill out the housing application if required.
For my first child in college, we assumed the enrollment deposit included housing. It didn't, it was a separate application. So we missed it by a few days (May 1st was on a Friday and when I called the school Monday to make sure we were set, I learned my daughter didn't apply for housing). It still worked out.
You would think I would have learned, but made the same mistake with second daughter at another university.
So wanted to remind other parents so they get enrollment and housing application in on time. Every school is different, so you could check with what your school requires.

We (gulp) deposited yesterday. I am praying that DS made the right choice for college. I am freaking out just a little bit, lol.

Wow, thanks - it would not have occurred to me to look for that, and this is not my first time at the rodeo... My senior has decided and had a change of heart several times already. I finally had to step away and say, "Just let me know what you've decided by Thursday night, so I can pay the right school."

Hmmm, we don't have an enrollment deposit here. Younger DD did put in her housing request and is on the roommate-matching app, and older DD (will be a junior) has registered for summer and fall classes. They both requested a parking pass. Oh and the younger one signed up for summer orientation/class registration.

Yup! May 1st is Decision Day! We sent my daughter's deposit in when she decided (finally!) about 5 weeks ago. Her HS is having all of the Seniors wear their college shirts on May 3rd to take a class pic! College shirts, trade schools, military, etc. Its to celebrate their decisions for after graduation.

This is a good reminder for grad school parents, too. Grad schools don't necessarily have the earlier deadlines. Check those dates.
Congratulations to all of your incoming undergrads. This is a huge milestone and a very exciting time.

My son’s school is doing “Reveal Day” on Monday as well. The seniors gather on the steps in front of the school with their lab coats over their college shirt and they all take them off at the same time. I can’t wait!
