Scrapbook Expo's website lists their first expo in Georgia in the summer and pending 2021 dates for the fall. If this was your regular expo, are you ready to attend? Do you think the vendors will come back?
I am in southern California so my shows aren't until later. But I am hoping this show is successful and we are on the road back. I really enjoyed the expos and miss them. I will be attending in the fall if they have them locally.

Now that I am fully vaccinated, I’d be open to the idea of going. I don’t go to crop, just shop.

I am fully vaccinated and currently plan to attend GASC in Arlington Texas. I continue to wear my mask and will only attend for shopping. I will stay in a hotel room (it’s a 4+ hour drive) and purchase a meal for takeout (I still do not dine in restaurants.)

I haven't decided yet. I really miss the in-person experience though. I am fully vaccinated too but that is not 100% guarantee. I usually go to Sacramento which is historically late October/early November.

I haven't managed to make it to one yet - Orlando is the closest I think to me and that says postponed until 2022. Maybe? I would like to go just once to experience it. I'm fully vaccinated but still masking and taking precautions

No. Not to an indoor event like that where there is no requirement that everyone be vaccinated. A crop with my best friends who I know are vaccinated, yes.

I’m undecided. I’m fully vaccinated, and my immediate family is nearly there. I’d like to see how things progress with the variants and the timing for any boosters. I’d be more comfortable doing the crop than the shopping, at least for Expo since they give you a lot of space at the crop (not so for CKC), but the booths are cramped and VERY close quarters.

I recently went to CKC in Manchester, I am fully vaccinated. We’ve been really careful, I have not eaten indoors in more than a year and just saw my parents for the first time, no other family yet. My bubble until I went back to work was just my immediate family. I went to the vendor fair with the intention of just walking out if it was too crowded or if I felt uncomfortable. I was only there for about 2 hours, including a short walk outside in the middle. everyone was wearing masks. The booths were really spread out, more than previous years. There were not a lot of people, it was not crowded at all. I’m worried the vendors might not have made enough money to cover their costs.

I am going to CKC Lancaster. If Expo comes back for me next summer, I'm sure I will go. I'm excited about it and I think the vendors that have survived will come back.

I would probably go, depending on community virus spread at the time. Vaccination rates are high in the demographic that attends (old ladies, haha.) Crops are in a large open space even though it’s indoors. Seems to me the risk is very, very low.
I’m in So Cal. Other parts of the country with low vax rates, vax resistance may be a different story.

Not yet. I so look forward to the Expo every year, and have been a paid volunteer at several. I generally attend a couple classes, and usually there’s a technique or product that grabs me on the selling floor. Last time it was at Stamplistic’s booth using gilders wax and gilding polish together. I must have spent three hours over two days there.
But I wouldn’t go now, not with so many covid variants and the crowds, even though I’m fully vaccinated, and my part of the state may reach herd immunity in the next month or two. But people attend from all over and even pre-pandemic I’d never met a cold that didn’t morph into cough-variant asthma, bronchitis, etc., so have to be careful.
They’re in my state every June so probably wouldn’t be here until 2022 anyway. I miss it.
Does anyone have the link with dates? I’m only seeing Georgia. Thanks!

I'm only seeing a date for Heorgia too. The others show pending 2021 or 2022.

I was telling my husband that what the past 4 years have taught me (especially 2020) is that people cannot be trusted to do the right thing. It's so sad that I can't trust people anymore. ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/mYSUyHtG9Jrcmm_ydVcK.jpg) I'm in the SF Bay Area and our vaccinations rates are pretty good right now, I suspect my county will be 70% by July (currently it's almost 50%) so if that's the case, if they have one in Santa Clara (large open convention center) or in Pleasanton (fairgrounds, large open buildings) I will definitely consider it. I probably won't crop, I'll just go to shop if they manage the amount of people on the shopping floor. I'm hoping to crop with a few of my friends (we're all fully vaxed) soon but no large crops with people who may or may not be vaxed.

I attended a crop hosted by my LSS for NSD. There were 60 attendees in a hotel ballroom. They separated people into pods if they were attending in groups. Masks were optional at your table, required away from your table and in the hotel. There were four of us in our pod and we were all vaccinated. There are no guarantees with this virus, but I feel I took a reasonable risk. I would not have attended if my family wasn’t vaccinated.

I recall that the Expo wasn't coming back to Santa Clara prior to Covid due to scheduling issues with the convention center. I am wonder if they will work it out. That is my favorite venue and I pay for the hotel there because I go by myself and like that I don't have to go outside to get to the convention center from the hotel. Just wheel my little wagon along!

I would go, but I'm also in my mid-30's and healthy so Covid isn't as big of a risk for me as for some fellow scrappers. We actually attended a convention (not scrapbooking related) in March in South Carolina. We were there for 3 days and masks were optional and there weren't any Covid outbreaks.
I've also attended a weekend scrapbook retreat back in February with 60 other ladies and we were all fine.
We have been pretty much living our lives as much as we can for the past year. I have elementary aged children and all the studies have shown that they aren't spreading the virus around and their risk is much lower than the older population, so we have tried to keep things as normal as possible for them this year as far as sports, band, extracurricular activities, etc go. Thankfully we live in a state that has been pretty open.

I went to CKC in Collinsville/St. Louis last month. Masks were required. Everyone had one on and most even wore them correctly. They also had a few hand sanitizer stations on the shopping floor. However, it was very crowded even with the booths being spread out. I didn't take a class because there weren't any offered that interested me. I also attended a crop with a few friends that same weekend. I wanted to support the convention and the retreat center. Looking back I would have skipped the convention but still gone to the crop. Not that anyone in our group got sick or anything like that. It was just a lot of people.
I attended the same convention just before shut down in 2020. I felt that there may have been fewer people in 2020. At that time I was going through chemo and wore a mask. Not everyone was wearing them yet but I'd been wearing one in public since I'd started chemo anyway. I also took my own hand sanitizer. I've almost always carried a travel size in my purse.
Either way you have to decide what is right for you and your family.

Probably not, but only because DH is so vulnerable after his heart attack. We’ve had both Pfizer shots now, but until his heart recovers sufficiently, if he gets COVID (still a low risk possibility even after vaccination), he will still be at extremely high risk of dying. No convention is worth that to me.
However, if it weren’t for his ”worse risk than most” situation, I would go.

I'll go. Don't know if I'll crop or take a class, but I love to see everything in person. I like to go on Friday before things start to sell out. A friend wants to go on Saturday. Ha. Maybe I'll go both days. My husband and I are the only ones at home and we're both vaccinated, and our Expo shows up the last week of September. He's an instructor at a college and a personal trainer at a gym, and I know we've both been exposed quite a bit. I feel pretty confident about getting out there now (more so by September, I'm sure).

Thankfully we live in a state that has been pretty open. I’m curious - how could one know that no one got Covid following a 3-day mask-optional convention? And how would one know if someone who had it but was asymptomatic, didn’t pass it on to people at the convention - who could then pass it on to others when home? My 95-year-old (96 in June!) m-i-l got covid despite not leaving her house for months, from one of four supposedly healthy people who were in her home and masked. Masking properly and social distancing shows caring. I’m thankful too - that I live in a state that had fairly strict guidelines, is slowly opening, and in our area herd immunity may be reached next month, fingers crossed. But I’ll still mask because of variants and I’m a germ chicken. 🐔

Yes I will go. To support Scrap Expo and the local convention center. Probably only Friday for shopping because there are fewer people and the Friday night crop with a small group of friends. California positivity rates are low an vaccination rates are high. If that changes before the show I likely will change my decision

Yes. I’m fully vaccinated, and my favorite store will be there. I will still probably take a mask.
Instead of cropping on site, my friend and I will be shopping at GASC, and getting a hotel room to scrap in.

This is the only option I would be comfortable with as a fully vaccinated person, and only if it was happening right now. I think the closest that comes to me is Ontario, CA and usually not until the fall. I suppose it will depend on how things are at that time. Especially if boosters are needed, etc.

Geez, Im just waiting for our province to allow indoor gatherings again so my 3 friends and i can have a Soul Weekend of crafting, painting, scrapbooking, cardmaking and laughter. We all really need it right now. Alberta has had zero indoor gatherings since November.

I was hoping to go to CKC Lancaster but decided against it. There were no classes I wanted to take and I didn’t want to drive 4 hours and pay for a hotel just to shop. A couple of friends are going to a weekend event at a hotel later this year - I would have joined them but I have a conflict that weekend.
