We just got a new loveseat and sofa. The brand name is England Furniture and it's made in Tennessee. We were looking for a couch that is put together with actual screws and not tacks or nails and we wanted cushions that don't crush. The cushions in this brand have coils inside and they have a 10 year warranty against crushing. they were reasonable and had a good selection of neutral colors. The color we chose was actually in stock at our furniture store and we had them in less than two weeks. England Furniture

DH and I have figured out sofas are pretty much a throw away item. We have to replace our sofa we bought 8 years ago from Costco. We are hard on sofas. The one we have now is a sectional with the power recliners, and we won’t get those again. It’s just the two of us most of the time , but the recliners didn’t hold up. I really hate cleaning under the thing anyway. We have hardwood floors, the dust shows really bad and I have move the whole huge soma to clean under it.

I hate furniture shopping! We looked for a very long time and at so many stores before finding something we liked. We wound up buying from a local store, furniture is made in America , we could choose the arm style, leather/fabric, legs, front apron style, reclining mechanism. It took 8-10 weeks from order to delivery, and was not cheap, but so far(18 months) we love our sofa and loveseat. Our previous set was from LazZBoy. I was never crazy about them--they were a beige microfiber set that we bought when we couldn't find much we liked. I was thinking they didn't last very long, but in cleaning out our receipt file, we had them almost 14 years--so they actually held up well. We have a leather recliner that I bought for DH in 1999 from LazZBoy--it's still the favorite seat in the house!

I would not recommend a reclining sofa if you like to sit together. It seemed perfect, but we went from sitting as close as puzzle pieces to sitting on opposite ends of the couch. We got used to that. Then when we replaced that sofa with a sectional, we took turns sitting where it curves, and you can’t exactly share that space either. When I went sofa shopping a year ago, I only tried pieces that met my prerequisites: - proper depth for me. I wanted my feet to be able to reach the floor. - attached top cushions. Our sectional had detached cushions and they got so misshapen.
