I just put two of my new winter wool sweaters in the wash… and ran them on the regular cycle, not delicate. DAMN. Neither one is still available in the store so I can't replace. Is there any hope to stretch them out again, or are these just an expensive mistake for the donation pile now?

I'm pretty sure you can't fix that once they've basically been felted. I wouldn't even donate them. Personally I would make mittens, slippers or Christmas ornaments out of them. That is a bummer.

I think if they were washed in hot water, they have basically been felted. Once that happens, I am not sure that you can save them. It really stinks and I'm sorry. If you are a sewer, or know someone who sews, there are all kinds of great projects that can be done with them.

So much fun stuff you can do with felted wool!
