Hello!
My dear friend just became a Grandmother this week, and I want to give her a gift to commemorate this. When I had my first grandchild a couple of years ago, she gave me a custom T-shirt with my "Grandma name." I don't think she would appreciate a t-shirt, and I don't want to repeat what she gave me anyway. What can yall come up with for me?? I'm at a loss!

A special box to keep all the treasures that come over the year? A photo frame or album?

A special baby quilt/blanket to be used at her house?

My 89 yo mom won't be able to travel to DD's wedding and it would be awesome if we could have someone uploading photos for her on day of so she can "sort of" be there.

This is the one we bought and it’s very easy. There’s an app to use for adding photos and videos. Also, if there is someone nearby who can set up a computer or device for your mom, you could have a Facebook live or Facetime from the wedding and she could see it live.

I had hoped we could figure out a way for mum to see the wedding live, but the venue is in a redwood grove and we doubt there would be any WiFi signal.

I am a new Grandma to be and I would love something like a playmat or books that can be kept at my house.

We give this toy to all our friends when they become grandparents: linkBabies through preschoolers have fun with it. It really pops the balls when the batteries are new. You'll get belly laughs from the babies.

If you prefer low-tech (or once the grandchild is older - if, say, someone is "inheriting" grands due to marriage), these children's artwork frames are great and hold a lot!

My one year old grandson (with the assistance of his parents of course) gifted me, other grandma, and great grandma one of the nixplay frames for mother’s day. I have mine on the kitchen counter and just love seeing pics of that sweet little face scroll by. When they add new pics, I get so distracted watching it, I forget what I’m doing in the kitchen!

I am expecting my first grandbaby any day now, and I recently received this journal, with prompts, to be filled out by me and given to my granddaughter one day. It's definitely a slower-paced, less flashy gift, but one I truly appreciate as a sentimental person and preserver of family history. My Grandmother's Life

No reviews yet but here is a board / finger puppet book I got for a new grandma friend Baby Shark It also comes in itsy bitsy spider and five little monkeys. Baby Shark was an inside joke so picked that. Joke was on me because since the purchase that damn song keeps popping in my head Another gift that went over well for a shower was a nice puppet instead of a stuffed animal. The new dad particularly liked it because it was something interactive. Old peas might appreciate the one I got (I am sure I learned about the badger badger video here. Here is that video and the puppet - Badger . Looks like that one not available anymore, but there are other nice ones. Evidently I have an earworm theme!

I'm almost ready to buy one based on the rec by krcrafts and reading reviews online. I've never seen a product with so many 5 star reviews! One question I have is whether or not photos can be placed into some sort of files or albums so that, for example, mum could view only pix from dd's upcoming wedding if she wanted to. Once you add new photos does the digital frame show all of them in sequence so the "loop" gets enormous over time? Is it possible to find a specific photo and freeze it on the screen for a time?

If the baby lives close enough to visit often--some toys to stay at Grandma's house.

You'll get belly laughs from the babies. LOL, my almost 11yo wouldn’t let me sell ours which is similar to that! I had banished it to a hiding spot in a closet years ago because the music was driving me insane. When I started pulling old stuff out to purge she said, “You can’t sell that!”

I wish I could answer your questions, but I haven’t had mine for long and just depended on what the parents uploaded. I *think* you can create different playlists of photos. I don’t know if you can pause a photo those.

If you need another gift idea for down the road I would get her a gift card to an online photo printing service like snapfish or shutterfly so she can get photos printed or have something custom made. I had about 250 prints mailed to my mother in law for Mother’s Day and it was very easy and she loved it.
