DD is 17 has ASD (Aspergers) and is very challenging to shop for. She is small, 5’ 1” and about 95 pounds. She also looks very young and is very simple/conservative in her clothing, basically leggings and t-shirts. She still gets basic leggings from the kids section at Target. 😆
She will be having senior pics done this summer (!) and we would like to have one pic in a simple dress, but I’m having trouble finding something that looks good, fits well, and doesn’t look either too babyish or too skimpy. She is not into spaghetti straps and is small chested. We could even do a nicer top with slim pants and sandals. Just something a step up from her every day wardrobe. Any ideas for sources?
Thanks in advance to my super shopper Pea friends!

Check out Mod Cloth online, they have some really cute vintage looks. DD has also found some cute fit and flare dresses at Target.

Thanks in advance to my super shopper Pea friends! My Aspie dd got a dress from Old Navy. Light, pretty, not frilly, not too tight, not itchy. She loves it. She graduates this year and wore it once already. She has also chosen dressed from Kohls.

I would try Old Navy or J Crew, but tend to have more simple designs, with JC being more tailored.

Her build sounds similar to one of my DDs, who also tends to dress more on the solid/plain side. She's a teacher and dresses cute but simple and comfortable. She buys a lot of dresses from Gap and J Crew because they carry XXS and XS. She looks very nice in a simple shift dress like this.

Add me to the J Crew pile. They are great for petite folks who like simple clothes.

I agree with trying J Crew. Also maybe Anthropologie. Aritzia would be another good option...they have many options in small sizes. A jumpsuit might be a cute alternative to a dress.

I love this petite dress from Talbot's. Would be really cute for senior pictures. They have some nice options on their web site. Talbot's Dress
ETA: It's the linen scallop detail shift dress. Not sure I can't link directly to the specific one. Sorry!

Thanks for the suggestions! I’ll definitely be checking these out. I didn’t even think of J Crew or Talbots (or Walmart!) and didn’t think Old Navy would have anything small enough. Much appreciated!

Try Aeropostale , we got my daughter some cute dresses there for a cruise. Granted this was 2 years ago but we were there a few weeks ago and saw cute ones!

J Crew (and J crew factory), Loft, Francesca’s, Anthropologie, and Macy’s would be my starting spots... Maybe Lilly Pulitzer? Vineyard Vines?

Another place to search may be Draper James. They sell size 0.
