I have been rifling through photos yet to be scrapped and came upon a couple of sets from fall, 2019. One set is of dgs doing a school project with my scrappy supplies. I will be scrapping those today with PhotoPlay Crafting with my Gnomies.
But the second set is of the first time he ever attended a movie in a theatre--quite a fete for a hyper active little guy! I want to get those photos on pages this week, but don't really have any movie themed supplies. Shocking! I know!
The movie was Abominable. Please, msliz, don't tell me I need to make a tear-bear style yeti!

It's not exactly the same, but maybe a viewfinder circle? (I forget what they're called.)Or cut a movie popcorn container with the Silhouette?

I don't know but I'm just here to say that Abominable is an awesome movie to have as your first cinema outing ever... The cuteness is off the charts! I'd definitely include the movie poster somewhere, grammadee, as the colours are super dreamy. Have you thought of looking for a tear-off cinema ticket cut file? Or maybe you could recreate the travel theme of the movie? There are gorgeous scenes of soaring through pastel skies with puffy clouds.

In a Creative Bubble also has some cute Yeti printable cards/digi stamps. Unfortunately, Canadian orders are currently disabled. It's a shame, Geralyn's yetis are my favourite!

I have just two photos of him: one of him in front of the movie poster, and one all excited about his "snack pack" of pop and popcorn. and then one of the theatre logo. I have since purchased the DVD: I may have to see if there are some inserts I can use as embellishments.

That Doodlebug collection is adorable and would have been perfect for scrapping this story, but wouldn't ya know this was one winter collection I resisted when it came out...
I have both a viewmaster reel die and a Silhouette cutfile, justjac. That would make a nice element, even as a background for a cluster. Will have to check Silhouette for a movie reel kind of file. Might have some popcorn images on an old Circus collection. I know I will NOT be piecing together hundreds of popped corn, like gramma did a few months ago...

Oh man, I just saw the cutest 2 photo layout. And I remember thinking what a great layout it was because it's so hard to scrap theater photos. I'll hunt around, but I really have no idea where I just saw it.

I feel like the old 🎞 film look would be pretty easy to create even without fancy tools - black borders with little squares cut out of them, divided into frames, which could hold photos... Not that any film was used in the making of that glorious movie, but you know 🤷🏻♀️

Not that any film was used in the making of that glorious movie, but you know 🤷🏻♀️ I actually have some scrapbooking acetate with filmstrips on it. Don't have many photos, though, unless I printed some small ones from the movie website.
Am thinking I might grab a photo of the inside of the theatre from their website: it was a whole new experience for me: comfy recliner seats, trays between them, lots of leg room... And they were sloped so much that he could stand next to the rail in front of his seat without blocking anyone's view. I had not been to a movie in a theatre in a long time, and was wondering how he would do in those old style flip up seats.

don't really have any movie themed supplies. Do you have Dollar Tree in Canada? They have a movie themed sticker. I would make a film strip with either a film strip die or other die cut option. Some Disney stuff has movie themed elements also. You can make a marquee using some yellow jewels and block letters. I have lots of movie themed stuff. Reminisce makes some I recently bought. Scrapyourtrip has lots of different movie themed and theatre themed papers.

So if I were going to create a marque, myboysnme, with dies and drops for lights and stickers, which of these dies would work the best?

I made a first movie layout for my daughter's scrapbook. I used a film/movie strip from my stash and then scraplifted a lot of the rest of the layout (the grid, the heart design). Unfortunately, I don't have a credit to share. But I incorporated the movie poster and then chose patterned paper that had the same feel (in my case, skyscrapers, clouds, etc. that went with the movie posted design). Perhaps this is helpful to you? http://instagram.com/p/BtHMArhn006

I have both a viewmaster reel die and a Silhouette cutfile, justjac. Saw this recently at a crop where someone put the tiny pics in the openings. So, I think your idea of putting pics of the movie in the reel or viewfinder would be great!

scrappieannie, your page is amazing! Working on an idea for how I can cut some of those patchwork hearts... gramma, thanks for the files. Thinking I want to cut at least one popcorn box in blue--to match his shirt AND the actual box he had at the theatre. And of course one of those reels to use as the "O" in "Movie". Found my filmstrip acetate, but the squares are pretty big. Thought I had a die to cut smaller ones. Might have seen it somewhere and decided NOT to buy it... Will look for it when I pull out the viewmaster reel die. Should prob quit chatting and start cutting...

Okay, this is what happens when a page is designed by committee LOL. first movie by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Tried to use sleepingbooty 's colour and theme suggestions by stamping mountains and selecting a background reminiscent of that cloud flight. Cut the viewmaster reel as justjac suggested. Used some Silhouette files, thanks to gramma . Copied scrappieannie's paper pieced hearts. Had planned to make the title block into a marquee as myboysnme suggested, but ended up leaving off the "lights" b/c it was too full of other stuff . Used my Nuvo's for the snow caps on the mountains, instead. Thanks everyone!

Oh my gosh, grammadee , this is incredible! The committee did their job really well. Seriously, it's the perfect mix of dreamy aesthetic and cinema experience. It truly embodies everything that your grandson experienced that day. The background colours make Everest's eyes pop and bring the focus right back to your little guy! I love the O of 'movie' being a film spool, too.

That came out so cute! Good suggestions committee. I love the mountains and I think it captures it well where I really focus on the photos!

Okay, this is what happens when a page is designed by committee LOL. Amazing! I was going to come back here and suggest using tickets paper like you might find in amusement park papers but your layout is beyond my wildest! It definitely reads Abominable and your photos are so good you didn't need much to finish the story. What you did is amazing. The grey brick paper is perfect - exactly what I would wish to have on hand for these photos.
