Our housekeeper of 13 years recently retired. I am looking for a new one and am surprised at how much people are charging. I like to use an individual (so I have the same person all the time) don’t care about insurance coverage or anything like that. I provide all of my own cleaning supplies. I thought $25 an hour (cash) was reasonable but most are asking $40.

My housecleaner brings all supplies herself. I live in an expensive city. She charges $135 per cleaning and is here between 2.5-3 hours. So $45+ per hour.
I think you’ll find pricing all over the places depending on where people live. If you have a NextDoor, or neighborhood Facebook, I would ask there.

We have been with our cleaning lady for a long time, and her cousin who moved away before that (at least 11 yrs). I know she doesn't charge us her going rate since we have been with her for so long. I think we would pay double if we had to find someone new.

We pay $100 for 90 minutes, but it’s two women cleaning. That’s pretty reasonable here. Going through a company like molly maid costs more.

$100/visit, which works out to about $35/hr for the time they spend. I provide my own supplies. There are two ladies who come, so the money is split between them.

$35/hour. We provide supplies.
That's why I only hire out when it's necessary. Otherwise, I pay myself that rate and enjoy some lavish self-care or fund my hobbies.

I had to hire a housecleaner after I had surgery and was severely limited in what I could do for (I live alone) for 3-4 months. I ended up continuing on as my long-term reward for quitting smoking. It's the best gift I've ever given myself, and less $$$ than cigarettes.

Haven't had anyone clean for the duration of the pandemic but paid our regular every other week person for the first 3 months. We paid her when she couldn't come during a period of cancer treatments too.
Started using her services in 2012 when I became really ill and once I was quite a lot better 2 years later we kept her on because we could afford it and it freed me up to do other things with my limited energy.
So it used to be $120 for 4-4.5 hours plus I always went to Costco while she was here and bought her rotis. chicken and another 1-3 items after asking her what she could use. Sometimes it was disposable gloves, other times food items. She was a great person but not a very speedy cleaner.
Next week I have 3 women from a large local company coming to do a top to bottom deep clean. $179/hr, they are scheduled for 6 hours but will leave sooner if they are done all of the tasks I want them to do. The house soooo needs it and while expensive, it will be a lot less than we would have spent on cleaning over the past year. I don't know what they charge for regular cleaning but am hoping to hire them to come every three weeks or so.
ETA - we provide all cleaning supplies.

I recently hired someone. She charges $25/hr (CAD), brings all of her own supplies and equipment, wears clean slippers and mask for each appointment. my condo is 1.5-2 hrs once a month to clean top to bottom. She said she is happy to do anything special if I leave a list.

Two ladies (sisters) who come every other week. They provide their own supplies per their request, and are there roughly 1.5 hours. $100 each time. Well worth it to come home to a clean, sweet smelling house!!

This is the going rate in Amarillo as well -- but the only supplies we provide is the actual cleaners they use. She brings her own mops and vacuum. We don't have her come regularly anymore, but if we did, we could sign a contract that would be for 12 months @ 2x a month. And we'd get one free cleaning every 6 months.

150 every other week. She’s generally here 3.5 to 4 hours. So, I guess it’s about 35-40 an hour.
And worth every penny.

Mine is super cheap, but so lazy. It’s me. If I were the housekeeper, there would be no housekeeper. Eventually the floor starts to crunch underfoot. Ask me how I know.
