I have been using Walgreens for photos for years, the one nearest my house does a great job on printing but the last few times I have ordered phone photos in the odd size (as opposed to the DSLR 4x6) they have printed them on 4x6 paper and left the white border on. I asked the first time for them to fix it but all they did was reprint them on the same size paper and left the border on again. I explained that I just wanted the white border gone, they kept them and cut them down for me but they did a crap job. Several still had small white borders, some were cut crooked, some had jagged edges, etc. I kept them but I was pretty annoyed.
I wrote to the contact us button but never heard back.
My next order was fine, so I made a large order last weekend and went in to pick them up today and they all had the white border/crust on them. I asked the lady (politely) to fix them and she looked at me like I had 2 heads. She called the manager and he must have told her to fix them but she kept telling him how many there were (224, yes, I know. ) but he must have told her to do them because she hung up and said it is going to be awhile, I told her that was fine I would be back tomorrow if that was ok. She told me again how many there were and I said I know that is why I don’t want to trim them myself. I would’ve printed them at home myself if I didn’t mind trimming them. She pointed to the cutter they have (heavy duty guillotine like at schools) and said, “that’s all I have”. I told her all I have at home is a rotary cutter and it’s going to go through blades like crazy if I cut all those photos. She said again there’s 224. I told her I understood, but that’s why I paid for them to be printed on the smaller size, was I wrong?
Shouldn’t they be trimmed prior to pick up, or maybe printed on the correct size to begin with? If I had just ordered 20 I don’t think she would be been so put out, but I paid just the same as if I had ordered 20.
This is not a busy store. There is rarely anyone else in the store when I am in there. There is never anyone actually in the photo area when I go in, and they have dedicated people that work there. I have no idea what they are doing when I go in, but I have to call someone every-timer and they always come from the back. Clearly they are sometime doing something, but pictures weren’t even being printed when I was there and my huge order took just over an hour to be printed despite the warning that it would be several days due to the size of the order.
Anyone else use Walgreens get phone pictures with the white border?
