Happy reopening day to my California peas. Curious what you will do in regards to masking.
If you will still mask, when do you think you will unmask? What factors play a factor into your decision?

I will wear a mask indoors until my son can be vaccinated. He’s three months old so it will probably be a while.

i will mask at Costco, Target, etc for now. if all social distancing is removed, i may not want to be that close to people without a bit of protection. if i am in a smaller store and hardly anyone is there, i will not mask. i will not mask when outside or when dining indoors.

I will mask depending on the situation. A store (or situation) with a lot of people, mask on. A store with few people in it, mask off. Also, if all the employees are wearing masks, I'll wear a mask out of respect for them. No mask outdoors.

I'm fully vax'd so no more masks for me. I'll probably carry one around just in case but I don't see the need.

Youngest ds is one week out of his second vaccine, but we won’t be voluntarily wearing masks in all situations I picture us going. That said I’m not a big crowd kind of person so that’s not part of my thought process.

finaledition same here. We are all vaccinated now and the numbers here are so good I’m not worried, such a great feeling. I was in Newport Beach over spring break and was startled at the number of non mask wearers. Virtually no one wore them at the marina where we were at. I haven’t ventured out today but I’m curious about tomorrow when I meet a friend for lunch.

We went out snd most are still masked. We wore ours even though technically we didn’t have to. We ate inside again but no one was really that close and they had plastic barriers up between tables. They had physically blocked several tables still to maintain distancing.

I was in Target this afternoon and they still have the old, huge sign up and then a small sign about not needing one if you are fully vaccinated. Only about 10% of the customers were unmasked, I’d say. I wasn’t going to wear mine (I’m fully vaccinated) but felt strange not wearing one, so I wore one.
I think if it’s somewhere not very crowded, I will lean towards going without. But it will take getting used to. For reference I’m in Ventura county.

I picked depends because I will wear a mask if the store requires it. One store still had the mask required sign at the door, although no one was monitoring when I went in. Everyone was masked inside.
At Trader Joe's there was no signage and no one at the door. All employees were masked and I didn't notice any unmasked customers. The checkout lines were long and they only had half the tills open, which has been the standard for the last year.
ETA Thinking about this a bit more, I'm going to continue to mask in public until after I've seen my family in Canada. I don't want to risk getting COVID knowing we will likely need a negative test before crossing the border.

I'm a K-12 teacher (CA) and we are currently still required to mask up indoors at school. I was at school today and the kids/teachers doing summer school all had masks on.

I shop early in the morning when most stores are pretty empty. I would only wear a mask if something is REALLY crowded.

Well I just got back from Whole Foods in Lafayette and I did wear a mask. Most people were masked up but there were about 5 people I saw with no masks…next time I think I will go maskless!

I won't be wearing a mask indoors except at my work place, we are still required by OSHA even though our clients coming in don't have to be masked. It's frustrating. I am vaccinated and so is every single person I am in contact with so no, I don't feel the need to continue with masking.

I will continue to mask up in public places.
With my extended family, we already don’t wear masks when we’re together at home or in the car.

I have 4 kids too young to be vaccinated yet. We will continue to mask indoors, only go out to eat where we can do it outdoors, and avoid crowds. We haven't been so careful for the last year to throw it all away when we are so close to the end of this. I really worry about my kids getting it now because people are being so much more relaxed. I have been vaccinated since April and we did venture on our first plane flight since April 2020, I have no desire to do that again any time soon.

I will not wear a mask. It was great going to the gym yesterday w/o one. I will always have one with me because each place will be different.

I will only mask if the store requires it. I've been vaccinated, and unless there's a rise in cases in the vaccinated, I will happily ditch the mask.

It depends for me too. I grocery shop early, especially in the summer to avoid the heat so it is never busy. I may mask though at check out. If it is busier, I will mask.
Cold and flu season? Mask inside.
We have been maskless with my parents as they are vaccinated, and dh, dd, and I are and ds had 1 dose and then second on Monday. We aren't out and about going crazy so we felt it was safe.
I am curious what the rules will be for next school year. I hope it is no masks as ds won't be able to last 6 hours in one but being in an sdc class, there may be different rules.
Movie theater we will still mask if packed. We may also buy 2 extra seats on each end of us for spacing.
We are excited to go to Birch Aquarium and Aquarium of the Pacific this summer.
And of course if a place requires a mask, I will still wear one. My salon is still requiring them.

I am in PA and we don't have to wear masks indoors if fully vaccinated. I am fully vaccinated today, but I wore my mask in the stores. I just don't feel comfortable quite yet. I kind of like the mask. The local news was talking about colds going around now, and I don't want to get a cold! I have found many benefits to wearing a mask, but it's nice to know that I have the option now. And if I forgot to refill my mask supply in my car, I don't have to drive back home to get a mask!

I will continue wearing a mask until I see how this all plays out. I am hopeful that I can stop wearing it soon but my motto is better safe than sorry. I went to Aldi this morning and it was 100% mask wearing.

We are excited to go to Birch Aquarium Great place! One of the La Jolla secret swings is a short walk from the aquarium visitor parking lot. It is also fun to stop at the nearby Torrey Pines Gliderport and watch the hang gliders take off and land. hijack finished

I won't be wearing masks if I am out shopping but that is about all I do if I go anywhere. I didn't like going out in big crowds even before the pandemic.

So we went to Bass Pro Shops and Cracker Barrel. It’s about 75 minutes north of us snd I saw very few masks today. It wasn’t crowded well except Cracker Barrel it looked like it was back to normal as there is no way they could have fit more tables in there and none were closed like at restaurants in our area yesterday. I’m curious about other places like the library as they are so strict.
I’m hoping we don’t see a nasty surge from this.

We love Birch Aquarium but weren’t fans of the Pacific technically Pacific is larger and more open but for some reason it was just off the people there or something and another friend of mine said the same thing. If you go there I recommend Bubba Gump Shrimp which is walking distance if I’m remembering correctly. It was really good.

My dd did their marine camp and loved it. We go during the Disabilities Fair yearly. I am bummed about the Queen Marry. Eta: there is something about the flow and ceiling. Sound bouncing back is horrible. Excited to see the new exhibit though!

We're still wearing them because I live in the area with the lowest vaccination rates in the county and all the local science denying nutjobs are giddy about not having to wear masks anymore so wearing one makes me more comfortable for now.
