When you are buying papers in a scrapbook collection, which embellishments do you buy with it?
I was looking at all of the new collections and I seldom buy papers without buying some matching embellishments.
I always buy either a package of diecuts or a sticker sheet to match. I used to buy enamel dots, too, but I'm starting to get enough to last me a lifetime.
I never buy brads, mostly because lots of them have epoxy centers and I've learned my lesson about epoxy. I'm amazed they still make epoxy embellishments. I almost never buy washi tape because I have quite a stash of that, too, and it sometimes doesn't age very well. I always anchor it so it doesn't peel up but I've noticed my white ones have changed colors. I never buy layered embellishments because they are too expensive for the amount you get.
I buy a lot of Thicker sets, both alphabets and words.
But if it is Vicki Boutin, all bets are off. I buy every embellishment, sometimes two packages of some. I'm always afraid of running out of something and I use her stuff constantly. I used to feel that way about Shimelle, too, so I'm glad I stocked up on her stuff.
What are your must have embellishments?

Have to admit I want it all! But I usually get the extra stickers and the diecuts. Specialty papers if they are not in the collection. Wild Whisper usually has PL card packs I like to grab, too.

Maybe stickers, die cuts or chipboard--depends on what I think I might need or actually use as to which of these 3 I might buy. But usually I need to have a project in mind before I buy anything other than paper.
I tend to skip brads, enamel dots, washi, stamps, etc.

I almost always buy the ephemera packs, especially if I know I’ll use at least half of them, and I’ll buy at least two of them if they are only florals!
I also like to have at least one of the sets of stickers/Thicker phrases.

An ephemera pack and sometimes the sticker book if there is one and I think I'll use most of it.
I think chipboard and enamel dots are $$$ for the amount you get. I don't buy the stamps and dies because I always think I can download something and cut it on my Silhouette for less...

I usually just get the collection pack - I'll occasionally get the ephemera pack if I see it marked down but I don't typically. Same with the enamel dots

I almost always buy chipboard, ephemera, and enamel dots. I almost always pass on stamp sets, die cut sets, washi, brads/epoxy items, and flat sticker books.

I don’t know. Sometimes, stickers or die cuts but I struggle to use those sometimes so I don’t really have a ‘go to’ or at least no go to other than more paper. Lol
Stamps are becoming more frequent since I can use those in both PL & the memory planner.

If I get anything, it'll be an ephemera pack. But typically I don't buy anything. I'll fussy cut out of the pp or print something or stamp something or die cut something. My pages tend to be photo heavy so I don't have a lot of extra room for embellishments anyway.

Patterned paper is my number one love, and I would say that it is always going to be my favourite scrapbook supply, but for some reason I cannot scrapbook without embellishments. It just doesn't work for my style. I have had collections that I bought and only the paper was available, so I am without embellishments and I struggle to use the paper.
I always buy sticker sheets, sticker books and the ephemera/die cut packs. I struggle with using chipboard and the price of enamel dots here is ridiculous, but I will still sometimes buy both. I really like unique embellishments so if there are frames, other fun stickers and things like that I will sometimes buy them even if I don't buy the collection.
I skip washi unless it is really cute because I have a ton and don't use much. I also skip anything epoxy.
I buy the smaller paper pads and pocket cards for fussy cutting and to make embellishments.
I am also buying stamps more often now. I like to use them in my PL and I like the way they look used as a background layer or fussy cut as embellishments on regular layouts.

Depends on what is included. Almost always I buy the chipboard pack, stickers, and cardstock die cuts. Sometimes I will get both sticker packs if 2 are offered.
A few times I haven't bought one of the items because I don't like what is included and feel I will waste my money for 1 or 2 stickers, chipboards, or die cuts.

I hardly ever, if at all by embellishments to match collections.
I have lots of plain brads, buttons, washi tape, stickles, plain chipboard, etc in my stash. I can find something to match.

99.9% of the time I buy the whole digital kit, so I get matching papers and elements. With the standard elements (embellishments) you usually don't get a choice in what ones you want, they are all bundled together.
Sometimes journal cards are sold in a separate pack, or part of a bigger bundle. I will only buy the journal cards if they are quite detailed, and not something that I would be able to easily replicate myself. Same with Alphas (digital version of alphabet stickers) - if they are sold separately I will only buy them if they are particularly unique / fancy and I don't have the Photoshop styles to make them myself.

None. As a simple, clean, linear, cardstock-intensive, mostly flat, story-focused/journaling-extensive, archival-conscious, & theme-challenged scrapper, I rarely purchase embellishments. I wish that "element sticker" sheets &/or an ephemera pack in each collection consisted of versatile, solid or classic pattern borders, labels, tabs, tags,* etc. in its color scheme, rather than the same heavily & specifically themed images repeated on all other embellishments, patterned papers, stamp sets, etc. [* Shout out to Simple Stories for the recent addition of Tags Paper (link is an example from the August release, Homegrown, at ACOT) to its full collections; note the versatile, non-themed tags on the reverse.]

Either the sticker sheet or die cut pack, on rare occasions, both. Chipboard too if it is an option.
I used to buy brads a lot, but don't anymore. I am still working on using those up.
I don't buy the enamel dots as I have tons of generic ones, but I do *use* them on every layout.

I first noticed in the fall collection (Cozy Days?) and really loved the addition. I'm glad to hear they're still doing them!

I love embellishments so much I will even buy them without the paper! Just placed a SB.com order for embellishments without buying paper. (When they offered the free 6x8 Simple Stories Sunkissed pad, I placed an order just because I wanted a number of those embellishments.)
I almost always buy Chipboard! (IF not excessively "wordy with images from the collection"--a style often seen from EP and CB) Ephemera/die cuts pack sticker sheet
I am always considering and sometimes buy puffy stickers (if the icons are unique enough compared with other sticker packs already purchased--if they are this is a definite buy) sticker book washi enamel dots Thickers (too often the words are things I don't want and are overused, so basic letters in a cool font are much better for me.)
And when it is a pretty themed paper collection, I definitely prefer for some of the embellishments to be less heavy handed and/or wordy with the theme and more generally versatile. Definitely use some great icons from the collection, but plenty of pieces that allow use of the collection beyond a theme like "lemons" or "zoo" or "beach" or whatever.

Usually just paper or a collection pack that includes sticker sheets. For those that love ephemera packs, is there a brand you like? I've found a lot of them have sayings that would never work.

My stash is very piecemeal, when I started I couldn't afford to buy a collection + matching embellishments, so I had to work out how to mix and match things from different collections so I could get the bits I loved the most, and now I find it hard to scrap any other way. So that means I'll often buy papers with no matching embellishments, or just the embellishments from a collection. The only real exceptions I can think of are FJ and CVS, because I love so much they put out. My favourite things to buy are die cuts, especially if there's a floral pack, stickers, and thickers (both the embellishment ones and the alphas). I now buy enamel dots based on gaps in my stash, I separate my packs and store by colour so it's easy to tell I have eleven million aqua/blue/green dots but hardly any true red or the right shade of yellow. Washi has to be amazing to make me buy it, I don't have an especially large stash but I'm also not great at using it. I try to steer away from things I don't really use any more, like brads, or products that don't have a long lifespan, like rub ons or epoxy. I'm not a huge fan of the big chipboard pieces most companies put out so I steer away from that too. I try to look carefully at how much of an embellishment pack I expect I'll use before I buy it, as a way to keep my stash from completely blowing out of control, and also helpful for my wallet too! rather than the same heavily & specifically themed images repeated on all other embellishments, patterned papers, stamp sets, etc. This really annoys me, and to be honest, I would probably buy more embellishments if I wasn't getting the same super specific designs in every format.

That's how I started out too and continue to scrap that way. Plus I really like paper! I see the price of embellishments and that cuts into my paper buying. I organize my stuff mostly by theme but don't necessarily always scrap that way. If I need earthy colors, I look at the camping, travel, or boy papers. If I do buy embellishments and papers from the same collection, I don't keep them together.

Stickers and die cuts. I like to use pop dots to lift die cuts.
Enamel dots if the colors are more unique and I'm unlikely to have a good color to match.

I’m with you on the epoxy - it ALWAYS yellows. I’m always tempted by Doodlebug’s cite epoxy, but have to remind myself that no one wants a yellow snowman!

As long as I can use 80% of the package, I’ll add it to my order except washi tape.
