Kerri Bradford posted the latest in her series of summer freebies this morning as part of a blog post which outlined developments on the UK/EU tax situation. www.kerribradford.com/2021/06/28/notice-watching/I'm not sure it's going to make any difference to me personally (I am unlikely to spend anything like enough for that to be the case) but perhaps a pea with greater knowledge/expertise on such things might like to shed a little light on how this changes things (or not) Happy Monday!

Flippin 'eck. I do really appreciate that she is willing to ship to the EU & UK but there is just no way I am dropping 2 hundy on stamps in one pop, from one retailer.
I have never been that kind of gal and I won't be starting now.
I do absolutely love her stamps though so I really hope there is a brighter light at the end of the tunnel in the future. TFS!

Like peachiceteas , it's out of the question I'm spending that amount of money on one scrappy order. Everyday Explorers is already applying this shopping threshold for UK customers and I'm guessing EU customers soon. I don't mind paying the VAT. I don't want to pay the expensive administrative/handling fee required from residents who are not purchasing from a registered vendor. Vendors either suck it up and take the time to register their business in an EU country + pass on the VAT collection or I'm out. I'm not paying VAT on my purchase + expensive shipping for a big order (and paying VAT on the shipping, too, lest we forget) + paying the expensive handling fee. I'm not that desperate. ETA: And all these vendors saying that's the only solution are really starting to grate on my nerves. No, that's the lazy option you've chosen. There is another obvious one. Don't pretend you're doing your customers some big favour by finding this "loophole" that will cost them a lot of money. *steps off soapbox*

I'm glad it wasn't just me! I read and thought "am I missing something here"...feeling mildly irritated by the reference to our (inter)national taxation system as some "hullaballoo". Sorry. Unless a better way can be found, then there's no business to be done here.

Unless a better way can be found, then there's no business to be done here. She doesn't even understand what's going on. Quoting her post: "I just wanted to mention that it looks like I will be releasing the July stamps on June 30 due to European countries switching to a VAT tax on July 1." No, we're not "switching to a VAT tax" on July 1st. The EU, after two years of campaigning to inform all vendors, big and small, is switching to direct tax collection from vendors outside of the EU due to massive VAT loss. We've always had VAT. She's also confusing "European countries" with EU. Clearly, she hasn't done any basic reading or visited the EU's website dedicated to the VAT collection for international vendors.
